A titanium this, an irridium that, a carbon wotsit.

Just have another look at your bike and you'll realise it's great the way it is, I see you have black wheels, even better.

My mates with the jap bikes are always "making thier bikes individual" and ending up with the same stuff as everyone else.

"the k6 has more power" so fu77ing what.

'had' black wheels mate... i wanted standard... the black simply didn't do it ffor me with the gold frame... i had the black on my last one with black frame... i liked that... but not with the gold frame :)

I think it's better to spend money on the one you have.
unless you go for the 916sps engine or the 996/998R engine
the 996 just isn't enough of a difference for the money.
Even with 50mms and a full Monty pro twins tune.
Resale of what? there not worth that much now are they.
It's crazy to look for power from Dukes on a limited budget.
just buy an old R1 for that. Drop the engine and get the cases sorted and leave it at that. Add bits to it when you can.
My one is a mongrel but it's my mongrel and I like it.

Find a 999 engine and get the best of all worlds. Best looks and top snot motor. I only wish I'd waited and found one for the 888.

PS. the 996 swap might involve loom, reg and ECU depending on what's fitted at present and what age of 996 you find. Later 996 had singe ignition pik up and 3 phase genny. has youre got a P8 (big square ECU) and t yellow wires to the reg?

Rgds, Rob

weeksey...
the best thing to do is decide on a budget....
then find out what you can get for that budget wether it involves turning the 916 engine into a blue printed hi comp 985cc or fitting a secondhand 996 engine from a crashed bike...

Financial reasons... i'd love a set of gold MAg 5 spokes, but the black ones were 3's and so are the gold. It was purely for looks reasons.
