MINIMOTO PLAN

OK, here are the details:

Timing:
We are due to start at 10am, but if you could plan on being there for 9:30 that will give us a bit more time to sign in and get kitted up.

Address:
Hanger 88,
A site
Hullavington
Wilts
SN14 6BT
01666 838234www.minimoto.co.uk

Directions:
Minimoto Racing is situated 1 mile from Junction 17 of the M4. From Junction 17 you need to head North on the A429 towards Malmesbury. You will go past a Murco petrol station on your left and after that, the main airfield. Just after the airfield is a left turn signposted towards Hullavington. Take this left turn and on the corner you will see a big grass covered hanger. This is the race track. To get to it, you need to turn right after the derelict house (3rd gate) and follow the road back round to the furthest hanger.

Clothing:
You are advised to wear some old (hard wearing) jeans, the looser the better, a long sleeved top and some old trainers, they will get scuffed ;-)
The company provides overalls, helmets, gloves and kneesliders.
Footwear:

Format:
The general scheme of things is that we will turn up, sign in, get kit on and all go out for a quick practice session. This will let you get a feel for things, before we go through heats, qualifiers and then semi finals and finals. In total this should take about 3 hours or thereabouts.

How to:
Riding the things is actually quite easy once you have levered yourself onto the thing. There are three main controls, twistgrip throttle, (right hand), front brake (right hand) and back brake (left hand). The most difficult thing is to get your foot position right. There are some pegs for your feet to go on. The weird thing is that you need to try and put the soles of your feet against the sides of the bike. Bit like putting the soles of your feet together, but with a bike inbetween. Feels a bit odd at first, but it's MUCH better for ground clearance.

Cost is 40 quid for the day.

Any questions on any of this, please give Simon a call: 07747 765453

Also as my wife is currently going in and out of labour, I won't be on the board too much so any q's drop me a line.

Also if anyone else drops out, please let me know ASAP so I can pull in others to ensure that we have a reasonable number there.

Cheers,

Simon

I think you'll find their the same people as well, without looking at the web site mentioned above, which was displayed at the nec. Must admit, i thought the same!

Seemed a good idea once :rodent:

stumpy1 01-Dec-2003 16:42

ARE ANY OF YOU TAKING YOU OWN CRASH HELMET??????

Scaramanga 01-Dec-2003 21:10

Right I need a final tally of numbers please

My list looks a bit like this:

Me + 1
Weeksy
Timetrial
Whele
Flanker + 2
Fil2
R1-Ian
Muttsnuts
Alan AJR
Murray Mint + 1
DJ Tera
Everton
Matthew Lane
Michael (and Lizzie on camera duties)
Stoddy
Jewell
Domski

Numbers are beginning to thin out a little (as the pansies lose their bottle!) and I'd appreciate confirmation of Stoddy, Jewell and Domski if poss. Also can't remember if Henners managed to fumble a decent excuse for this?

If anyone would like to add in or bring some mates, that would be great. I'm just a little concerned that we can't dip below 15 bods on the day.

Cheers,

Simon
p.s. if someone else could chase the last few up, I' appreciate it as I'm running backwards and forwards to my local hospital labour ward at the moment........
