I'm not sure that people realise how spoiled they are with circuits in this country. Considering the size of the UK, we are absolutely RAMMED with great tracks, and always have a great choice each year.

As an example, if you race in America, the geography of the place (It's huge) often dictates that you race with a single club, usually with no more than 3 tracks to choose from (unles you do AMA). I raced at Willow Springs, and their championship is held at one track...you guessed it...Willow Springs.

We are REALLY lucky. :)

Word...bitches...

From me...1000 miles to Eastern Creek, 700 miles to Phillip Island: my local, Mallala (like Snetterton) 50 miles away.

You guys have 3 local GP/WSB tracks, and Oulton, Cadwell, Snet, etc..

EXCELLENT WORK CHRIS.

Well done.

I've already discussed this with Chris a couple of weeks ago, and we had an idea about a suitable replacement for Assen. Hopefully Chris will be following up on this to see if it can be done.

Don't forget that as a UK race club, it's a whole world of hassle to get a grid overseas; there's enough red-tape as it is in racing in the UK, let alone trying to get grid space, for what is essentially a novice series, on someone else's patch who may well have different rules. These things don't happen easily and they certainly don't happen overnight! BUT it is being looked at so fingers crossed something will happen.

In the mean time, look at the great series that you have got already, look at the great venues that have been confirmed and think yourselves lucky. You only have to compare it to most other classes in "ordinary" race clubs to see just how exceptional racing in DD can be, and I think some people take that for granted.

Oh yeh, I'm 5h1tting it already, I thought Castle Combe had a big crowd!

Mind you if it does get coverage at least I'll see just how cr4p I am for myself. :D

As another example. Preston DMC run their series at the 3 sisters, Darley Moor and Aintree. These are tiny tracks compared to the DD calender. Ok i did want Oulton in the list but to be at Brands and Silverstone for me being new is fantastic news.

Ditto Chris,
Great Venues.
Going to lose my DD virginity at Brands (my fave) :)

Nice to see Brands back on the timetable.
But make no mistake, we'll get the **** end of the timetable... now I'm not being negative or having a moan, cos I know where we stand in the pecking order, just make sure you know what to expect so there's no complaining after the event - remember Moto6 last year?

I'll have a word with that nice Mr Palmer, he will slot us in at 15:00 just before the BSB round. Well can only hope.

ells 09-Dec-2009 23:38

I should imagine it is difficult in a normal year to try and get slots organised at meetings before someone decided to wreak havoc by digging up Donnington and the following fiasco of F1 or no F1 at Silverstone.

I see the track day guys are starting to publish dates so better try and get some practice in at Brands I think.

Mark.

You are very lucky racers getting on the same card as BSB, well done Chris. Even if you have to wait all day and half the crowd have gone home, it will still be a big day and you will get to watch the races as well. Suspect you'll be in the outer paddock, but wonder if you will have pitlane passes as usual so you can get close up?

I recall racing at Castle Coombe with BSB riders there and a big crowd -what a difference, it was brilliant to have so many people watching.

If you do go out before them, make sure your sump plug etc is tight:lol:
