A definite NO to warmers. I'm with Tim on this one....I'd love it all to be SIMPLER, not more fuss and bother! I may be wrong, but I don't think we have had any "offs" on the first corner of the first lap due to cold tyres yet....have we?????? Andy #99 . |
Just how many people have actually crashed on the first 2 laps in the DD so far that can be attributed to cold tyres ? |
Having tried the Diablos for the 1st time in the wet at TA4 , IMHO wets or warmers are NOT required. The tyres work fine, even from stone cold. (Cue me binning it in a puddle at Donington............) |
NO to warmers because: 1. it's against the spirit / meaning of the series - keep it simple, keep down cost, keep the technical / equipment playing field as level as possible (I know this opens up a box of 620 / 675 arguments but we're talking tyres at the moment). 2. they're poinitless all the while we run standard road tyres. My personal view is either leave the regs as they are or permit wets AND a more race oriented dry tyre (but still no warmers). I've used warmers, slicks and all that crap - trust me the DD way is SO much easier; no extra wheels, generator etc., to cart arround. No last minute dash to the holding area incase the tyres get cold (and then getting excluded because you left it too long), no mad scramble to change wheels 10 mintes before the race 'cos it's spitting with rain. |
How about a 100bhp limit then? :lol::lol::lol: |
