andy,
did the 57mm system bring many gains to your bike ??

i ask as ive go the 04 999r and a full system in the celler but i need to buy an old style swingarm to get it to fit, but im not sure its worth it !! any thoughts

You'll need more than a swingarm! don't forget shock linkage etc also

nathanhu 11-Nov-2005 13:53

err isnt it the same!!!

JPM 11-Nov-2005 13:55

Nope!

Common misconception, friend of mine went the other way, old to new swingarm due to 57mm system, first race highsided and £3k later rebuilding JHP informed him that he hadn't swapped the linkage.

It even different on 749R's to new 749's I believe... check the part numbers

just went to my dealer .. the rocker for the old and new swinger is the same .

if they were different then the rocker would have been in the update kit that the dealers recieved to make 03/04 bikes into 05 facelift models
