OK, so it looks like 46 max on the grid there then. so, if 49+ are entered, are we going to get 2 different class races? if not this could be a bit of a question: are 3+ people going to miss out the combined only grid races, after the qualifying session then? - in which case HOW is this going to be sorted out if any one of those 3+ theoretic people have already missed out on say, Cadwell/Brands/Assen???? not a gripe with the RC, but a very valid question that needs addressing asap:) |
Lets make this a problem!!! At the moment we are not getting 46+ DD bikes on the grids. Looking at the results, it seems that at Brands we had 21 x 620s on the grid and 23 x 583s. If you were New Era what would you do? We'll do well to make a full grid if we all turn up. You're asking for contingency for a situation that seems unlikely to happen. Unless you know of another 6+ riders to get past your quoted 49+ ???? It seems that we can get one full grid and it will make a great spectacle. Tim |
Is there anything stopping the 583's entering Class A at the moment? If not, then they should pull their finger out and enter both classes on their 583's. Then NE can't deny a second grid. Also means that the 'novice' class get extra tracktime (cost of £50) and they may learn something too? Maybe :eureka: |
Just because we might put out 50+ riders doesn't mean we will automatically get two grids - its a really big event for New Era, they want a spectacle for the big crowd and a full DD grid is better than 2 half filled ones. It would be nice to get some additional practice in place of the 2 races - perhaps???? ;) Tim |
I agree with that. If you can pull it off. Also how about having it all on one day (like Sunday) ;) |

As I am now on my second season with my 583 having only carried out oil and filter changes to it, I don't intend putting more race miles on it at extra entry costs just to make up the numbers to have the same problems I would if we ran races with a mixed grid. It may only be £50 for the extra class. but do that at a few more meets and I may as well have spent the money on going to Assen and for all I know that could make Castle Combe entry fee near to £200. Escaulated costs is not going to encourage others to sign up to the series, I suspect some didn't turn up at Brands because they committed their money to doing Assen. At Cadwell we put out 22 Class A bikes and 24 Class B bikes at Brands it was one less for each class. So we started with 46 and have since seen a reduction so to New Era it looks like they only need to allow for one full grid at Castle Combe and I can't see that changing, but a practice and a race on each day would be nice |
Fair point Tim about the 44 at Brands, but riders such as: Lin,Tonio, Sparesgeezer, Adam (T5mission) were missing from 583's , as also in the 620's were Geoffy (is he still racing??) Ducati UK, Uncle Dunnie & Paul Payne. Maybe it will just be a close call eh?:) |

:P:P maybe those with 2 bikes shouldnt be allowed to enter:P so everyone can get the chance to make the grid:P:P |
im not pleasesed about sharing a grid but im sure the MT are working hard to solve the problem. it looks like its going to be up to us to get more people on the grid, im talking to a few of my friends and im sure there members in the club that are thinking about it if we can get 6 more riders signed up we be fine (i think). if they are going to put us on one grid lets try and get something out of it say okay put us on one grid but we want a untime and a time practice. i know a few of you have got two bikes now so cant we make the numbers up that way (if can get a gap between races) im not sure what the deal is with new era. is that we only get two grids is we can put 25 on each grid? just some ideas |
