some lead others follow...........that stubby exhaust is just a copy of the R6 one.............dont spose they wanted to do underseat exhausts like the zx10, r1, bmw......................only ten years too late!:D Ps there was one at Silverstone yesterday, did look pretty! |

Really? My wheezy old 800ss spanked a load of them on the Brampton to Alston road on Sunday...mind you I was forced to use more than 7000rpm on the odd occasion. ;) |

That's because very few people can actually use 100+bhp - even on the track. |

I think the latest Gixxers are pretty butt fugly myself and the front end of the fairing is not really that dissimilar to the 999 imo. The rear end is fine but the front and the front quarters are not imo. YMMV of course. |
...and your garage floor wants sealing!;) |

Now that looks the dogs, Now i'm in a position to know that there will be some news to follow from a certain person with relevence to this thread. I say no more.............. |
for those who have commented on this thread! I have today, serviced a new K6 750 and my customer asked me to take it out and put it through it's pace's! I have ridden this bike before but it was after it's first service, so only a short test ride ! Today I carried out the 4000 mile service and took it for a spin! The weather "perfect" Time 2pm traffic light so what will this baby do? Ok so here is the road test report! Leave surburbia, and head out into the sticks ! Find a road I know well and remember to ride on the left! lol (Too much time in Germany) First thing you notice is this bike has torque, slightly unusual for a 750 ! Gear box A1, as you slip the change without using clutch. Remember my Gixxer K1 is reverse gear shift 1up 5down so took a little time to remeber to go the right way! lol Ok back to it ! Handling awesome as you flick it from left to right ! Islands what islands???????? knee down if thats your thing every time! so off I go towards Darley moor along the A515 lichfield to MATLOCK Ide say i know this road as good as I know the road to the Ring !lol Lived here all my life and know all the bumps, divits, cambers etc etc So lets see what she will do been ridden in anger! I exit the island in 2nd gear and twist the grip, the front end goes light and up she comes in a small but realy nice power wheelie off the throttle, shift into 3rd and up she comes again and floats at this point a quick short shift puts the front wheel firmly back on the ground Does help as the first 100mph bend aproaches LOL, wind it on in 4th gear and the free reving engine effortly carries you forward . There is a couple of catch u out bends on this road so setting the bike up for the corner is real important, as I entered the fast long left hander which leads onto a longer right hander under the tree section (always wet/damp under the trees) the bike tracks effortlessly, I'm not a big fan of entering a corner on the road on a closed throttle, but seeing how i had somehow arrived at this corner way to fast ! I had to back out of the gas a little early and run through the corner on a closed throttle ! normaly i would at this point expect to run a little wide ! but this gixxer just laughed at my mistake and poised itself and found the apex with no problem at all! getting back on the gas real early was not a problem or issue for the bike and the Tourqe fired me out like a stone from a sling shot! wooooohooooo , what a bike !!!!! the rest of the afternoon was "Smile per mile" as the baby gixxer was so sure footed , and every thing i asked it to do was done with ease.. I have to say that this bike is one Awesome peice of kit!!!!!!!!!! Downside in my opinion ! It needs a quick action throttle as there is loads of grunt left if you have a rist that can move through 220 degs you should be ok!lol secondly, if you buy a new one of these take your time before you ride it as I spent quite a long time re tightening things like the rear spindle nut and half the fasterners were loose! Other than that watch out Gixxer 1000 and R1 boys, because this baby is a serious contender on the road! Nice one Age go ride it like you stole it and enjoy! mav |
