Mike,

It took me a while to realise that there's a tiny little grub screw (allen bolt) in the pivot point of the lever that you tighten up, and not the big nut that I tried first. The instructions are a bizarre translation from Italian (as bad as BabelFish) and not very clear.

This pic should help you find it, although if you're tightening that already, then I don't know :puzzled:

LOL you didn't throw the packaging away did you? ;)

m1keyp 18-Jun-2004 13:20

Mine arrived in a cardboard box and bubble wrap, I have trouble with the bleed on the master cylinder weeping, did your instructions include torque settings.

I am S**t scared of tightening any more

Mr_S 18-Jun-2004 14:49

I stuck with the torque settings that came with my brake lines

min 14ft/lbs
max 24 ft/lbs

If it's tight & weeping, something's not right, it should only need a slight nip up to close it fully.

The instructions (all 4 lines!!) were printed on the back of the packaging

m1keyp 18-Jun-2004 17:53

The brass bleed nipple on the master cylinder is where the weep is coming from.

Strange i dont feel that they have been over tightened.

Mr_S 20-Jun-2004 14:01

Mike,

Is the weep you're getting constant each time you hit the lever, or is it that there's a bit of fluid around the nipple after you went out and rode it?

If it's the latter, it could just be the last dregs of fluid left in the bleed nipple being thrown out, as there's always a little left in the end of the nipple after you close it off.

On another note,

These brakes are scary good now :roll:, I've got to completely rethink my braking points (and probably adjust the front suspension too...)

I also changed the rear hose (it came in the kit so..) and after bleeding fresh fluid through until it ran clear and bubble free, it's still cr@p.

Think I might bleed the clutch through next..

m1keyp 20-Jun-2004 15:00

I think its the dregs, the brakes are awesome, SO MUCH FEEL

Did you get the clutch lever aswell? If not get it. I have it fitted with the MPL tuning parts slave (£85)that the guy sells on ebay and the difference is fantastic.

Thanks for the reply

Mike
