Cheers buddy. Did you have a trick black 998? I've been using a pic of it to try and work out a paint job.

Its been a productive weekend for my build as you can see

I keep looking at it and wonderind why its so small. Its like a 3/4 size bike next to the R6 which isn't exactly big lol.

I'm loving the back end so far

I've even got the headlight housing mounted and hung the rad on its top mounts.

I've picked up my exhaust from the metal polishers. I asked for a satin finish because i think it looks nicer

As it was a nice day i decided to wheel her into the sun for the first time and fit the exhausts. Looks lovely imo

You'll note that so far i've only painted one foot rest hanger.

I also finished mounting the rad.

I've found that at some point the connector for the headlight loom changed size. The one on the bike is now wrong. I will have to pull it apart and fit the other loom i have. I've also started to think about how i'm going to mount the translogic dash that i have for it.

The pipes look lovely, I got a bit jealous seeing them :)

That satin finish looks much better than a full polish.
What was the cost, just out of interest?

Hope you're sitting down................. £125

Got them done at Menston Metal Polishing which is just down the road from here. They were in a real state when i took them in. They charge £25 per hour so would be less with a better starting point.

Here we go - no idea what it is but mine has what looks like a loop-back wire on it to bridge the two wires. Can't find them in the diagram either - may be some part of the security? Plug-in for an immobiliser/alarm?

chris99 25-Apr-2011 21:22

Thanks for that. I've no idea why i would unplug that. Can you unplug it and see if the bike runs ok please?

Will do!

Great to follow. It would be interesting to know what the final cost is.
Looks pretty cool so far.
No samco hoses?

What have you enjoyed most so far?

I have one of those connectors on my 998(9)R. No cover. Will check to see the colour of the wires.
