Ruth, Tyre Warning, Race tyres for use in the dry have no tread and are called slicks. First time i took my wife to Le Mans for the 24 hour endurance race, we were in the pits when much to the amusement of the entire race team she said "why are you racing on bald tyres?":lol::lol: |
Redruth,hi and welcome to the board, and hopefully, the club.As your residing in Herts, get in touch with Fordie. He's our regional organiser and will only be too pleased to give you any news on forthcoming rideouts. On the subject of the boards,it quite simple really. If you have a problem with the bike, just go to the 748/996 page and post a query. Some techy minded soul should be able to sort you out.Dont worry if you dont know the thingamy from the wotsit,we are pretty good at deciphering dumb messages. Maybe see you on a rideout sometime!:D |
Thanks BDG. I actually knew that, having been forced to sit thru' endless boring Formula 1 races. What a dull sport that is! Your wife sounds like a TOP '**** taker'! Full marks to 'er! KeefyB - I have already been in touch with Fordie so hope to get out there and meet some riders v. soon. Now, I want to talk about BLING! |
Ok Ruth... First rule is..."Do your own thing". Dont get drawn into the colour debate you'll never win! Second rule is "Ask for help/advice when you NEED it". You can't possibly take it all in at once... And as for bling...Carbon???:barfy::barfy::barfy: It's glorified and more expensive Fibre glass and epoxy resin...It's meant to be sprayed but some people on here feel the need to "show it off" coz they've paid alot of money. I wouldn't touch those "staus symbol" thingies with a barge pole... Now...? Where did I put my Prada slingbacks? :D:D:D AND By the way...Welcome to the board...'bout time we had some more Ladees on the board... (AND no comments from you lot!) |
Colour prejudices abound... ...but I only speak in defence of Yellow Dukes everywhere who are continually oppressed by the Red masses to the point of rebellion  Anyway, Ducati's first racing bikes were coloured Yellow!! They only changed to Red to capitalise on the winning fortunes of their neighbours down at Maranello in the Ferrari factory! Ant's "coloured according to nationality" only holds true for the cars. Anyway, what does it matter what colour bike it is so long as you like bikes!?! |
Hey, Kwikbitch. Somewhat intimidated by your name. Things not going well on the 'bling' topic page so have switched back to this one, after looking at one about magazines. My ignorance is self-inflicted. I don't read bike magazines. I haven't even read my bike manual. I suppose I shall have to start but Prada slingbacks, now you're talkin! |
