ive had mine done on the 999.i bought me a 996 twist grip then as the 996 cable is to short i used my 999 cable,i took it to a local cable maker who replaced the inner cable & fitted the adjuster into the 996 twistgrip. the 999 cable has a plastic inner which makes the action smooth,it as i want it now but its all down to what works for you, total cost? around £20-£30 for 996 twistgrip, cable rework was £10. i belive pro v twins use a rs cable.

749er 15-Nov-2006 14:50

From memory its about £200 for the pro twins mod including labour. I converted mine to one from these guys.

http://www.evoluzione.net/

uses the existing cables and is easy to fit. Does not shorten the throw by much though. Main feature is a non linear cam so throttle opening rate at low engine speed is reduced, but increased from the midway point in the rev range. So good for pootling round town, and pushing out of bends

Sharpy G 15-Nov-2006 14:57

the 1 I ordered looks the same(ish) too me

My policeman friend knows about that little trick!! I beat it by having a bead of weld over it and the same on the opposite side so that it looks structural;)

Can the housing be repaired? I've got some pretty clever modelmakers that can probably take a mould and cast you a new one if it helps?

my baby R was three years old today !

and as she flew thro' her very first MOT at P&H yesterday with not even a slight problem (not surprising seen as I don't ride her that much )

thought I would buy her a little present while I was there

now I just need some nice Ti or stainless bolts to fit 'em with
