I work for Hewlett Packard in a worldwide role as a Human Performance Technologist.

That means that I troubleshoot, analyse and provide solutions for teams who are not achieving the performance that they should be. That means seeing that they've got the right information flows, good management feedback and communication, good working practises and processes, the right working environment, the right tools to do their job, the right training, the right motivation and incentives, the right organisational design and that the workforce has the right capacity. The capacity thing is mostly intellectual capacity or the size of the team, but it's not about telling people that they might be redundant.

In today's corporate climate it's me that's more likely to be told I'm redundant, and I've felt under constant threat of that for the last 3 years. If that happens, I'm going to see what I can do about becoming a self-employed management consultant - so I'd be happy to hear from anyone who's made the jump into self-employment - and of course if there's anyone out there that needs this sort of stuff.

:rodent:"Jools....did you tell 'em you were a Certified Performance Technologist"

Jools:"I think most of the DSC knows that I'm certified"

And tell them to get rid of that bloody red dot :flame:
Actually, I don't care any more as I cancelled my subscription due to too many shite channels, far too many adverts and constantly increasing costs. And I don't miss it one bit :)

Sorry clint, didn't mean to go on a mini rant
