No, but you seem to be under the impression that because you're not camping within 50 yards of the scrutineer's post, the bike isn't going to be ready? That's utter crap.

As Dickie says, some will be doing minimum fiddling with the bike so as long as it's through scrutineering in time then what's the rush?

Anyone that is "fixing" bits in the morning before the race obviously enjoyed too much camping hospitality the night before!

Seriously Steve, you make yourself out to be the world's focal point of knowledge on racing, but I've definitely attended and helped out my (racing) friends at more club races over the last 12 years than you've entered races, so please don't try to patronise anyone on this board with your holier than thou attitude.

It may work on visordown, but some of us aren't as green.

ps before anyone gets shirty about this, please take this post in the deliberately spiteful spirit that was intended!

That's me Chicken, and I will be sleeping in my luxurious motorhome in the paddock don't you know. My old bones can't do without the central heating, hot and cold running water, shower, toilet, cooker, etc etc........................
Actually it's a 14 year old Hymer but it does the job-ask TP-that is if he's stopped wingeing about his bottle of whisky yet.

ant...................weeksy may have a point.

lets make it 6.55 for b'fast...........tea or coffee for you ?:D

dickieducati 31-Mar-2005 17:12

weeksy, i take on all you're saying, and dont doubt it will be a baptism of fire for many of us. but will give the b and b option a go for the first race and see how it goes.

Monty 31-Mar-2005 17:13

Having been hanging round race paddocks since 1969 I am not going to get into this-but-the one thing that Steve missed out is the fact that you will be spending a LOT of time running to the toilet....................I still do when racing!
You all know of course that adrenaline is brown??

The thing is Weeksy, thats not how you're coming across. Your advice is more condescending than helpful, whether you mean it to come across that way or not.

The thing with advice is that you can offer it until you are blue in the face, but if the recipient doesn't want it then it's useless and will eventually just cause problems. If you do this in real life with people then I wouldn't be surprised to find out that all your front teeth are false!

Whinging? Why I oughtta ....

Monty 31-Mar-2005 17:20

Actually TP I have your bottle in my cupboard in the kitchen-it's not full as you drank some of it-and then preceeded to snore all through the night. I am only saving you from yourself as if I give it back to you at Cadwell you know that being the uncultured Auz that you are you will only drink it and be unfit to race.................:lol::lol:
If you really want it mate you are welcome to it-I only drink single malt myself-not that blended stuff you bought.;)

John
