Isnt the cost of that list bordering on a new 749r or a 999? add another grand for track fairings for your original and voila....the best of both worlds!

Wow, expensive re-build, especially when there are 2004 749r knocking around for £9k.

Bolds, I would be interested in how much the tank was worth and how you fitted it to the standard 749 frame, I thought that the 749r tank had slightly different mount points at the front.

Looking at his bare frame, i see the ign and tank mount is welded to the frame.............on mine its bolted! Im doing that black as per the jhp race bikes...........

Yep on most standard bikes, base and S model, it is welded, on the R it is bolted in. The 749r has a larger tank and as such I was unsure how you would fit the larger tank designed for a bolted in mount to a frame with the standard welded in mounts.

The bike was cheap to start with due to the crash damage

The tank i think was around £700 using the Ducati performance one out of the catalogue and fits straight on to existing mounts as they are the same

Been quite a few comments on here about the newer arm will fit, but, the suspension linkage is different and will not work 100% .... I think JPM knows more about this.

Bit of a myth mate. The kit thats in that picture is all you need, to change to a later arm (dependant on type of exhaust of course) you may need to alter the brake pipe as well to make it sit better, what else you choose to change is down to personal preference! ;)

I sit corrected. It is worth while doing as the newer arm does look much better.

I'm guessing you're getting the kit Andy? We did actually discuss the various different linkage options and there are a few believe me , but John knows what's best I guess
