916 Clipons

Anyone reccomend any ?? to lift slightly to make it just that bit more bearable. or has anyone tried any and did they make much difference. it would be nice to raise my hands an inch or so, and lift the elevation of the bars a bit so my neck straightens up a bit, arms a fine, neck gets tired though

I have the FBF 3 degree clipon brackets on mine, which does mean the ends of the bars are slightly higher, they made the difference between using the tank bag and not using it.
There is also a stepped top yoke available that I think allows you to run the standard bars above the yoke.

I've just brought in a top yoke from the states that allows the bars to positioned up to 20mm higher.
Rather than being flat, it's "gull winged".
The rake of the bars is also adjustable by using a slot for the pin in the clip on, rather than the indent in the std. yoke.
If you haven't already done it, try pulling the roll pin out of the bars that keys the brake/clutch levers in position. Fit them back on and tip them down 10mm-15mm. It does make things a little more comfortable.............

here's a piccie of the yoke.

Ooh i want one of those yolks. 20mm could make a huge difference (according to the mrs anyway)

I've got Heli bars fitted to my 996 and they work great for me. As you're pretty local you can pop round and try them if you want. Will have to be Saturday as i'm away for 2 weeks after that, or after i come back

If the forks are 50mm I have some clips-on with a removeable riser that I bought for my 900ss that didnt work out....

Interesting. But with all these solutions (Heli-bars, different yokes, different/adjustable clip-ons etc), aren't there issues with clearances between the screen and brake and clutch reservoirs, or screen and throttle assembly? Seems to me that there's not a lot of clearance with the stock arrangement.

How much are the yokes, BTW?

Hi

I have the cyclecat bars, they are adjustable for height and angle and transformed my aching hands!

The prodycts are just gorgeously made (I wish that I could afford the rearsets).
