Best place for quality carbon?
 

opinions please on the best supplier/manufacturer of quality well priced carbon?

hmmm bit difficult that good quality and price.
I found that tec moto did very good carbon in pre peg.
Don't know how they are doing now though as there has been some talk on this site about a change of owners

Anyone bought carbon from the major ebay advertiser at the moment? Trading under the name dixo-carbon.

I have bought stuff (not carbon) from www.carbonworld.de in germany they have proved good with everything i have had

Lots of posts on the big list re Dixo. Some regarding delays.

I have just had a single seat from Sandbar Composites, They import Ilmberger stuff. Top, top, quailty.

Dixo have a really bad reputation amongst the Yanks on Speedzilla at the moment. Personally I wouldn't touch them with the proverbial barge pole.

For a race bike, the best carbon fiber component is the one that has the least weight so the manufacturer should use the minimum amount of resin and no clear-coat to save weight. Unfortunately, this also results in pinholes in the surface and a somewhat dull finish. You may even be able to see light through it in some areas.

However, for a street bike, a nice appearance is a more important concern than weight savings, so fit and finish is essential.

In terms of overall appearance, carbon fiber made by Carbon Dream is widely regarded as the best product. They use prepreg carbon fiber and a autoclave instead of a cheaper wet lay-up process used by other manufactures. Their products are quite expensive.

The other major manufacturers are Casoli, QB Carbon, Ducati Performance, Sebimoto and Carbotech. I believe Motowheels carries the line of carbon fiber manufactured by the supplier to Ducati Performance.
