glad it was the car...

I had a bit of a scare last night when a car from opposite direction decided to turn right across my path at a set of traffic lights.

I made full use of the ABS as I swerved round the car, clipping the curb and spinning round in the road before coming to a standstill facing across the junction the wrong way with a stalled car. The bloke in the other car just carried on and the bloke in front of me had eyes like saucers at what he had just seen.

I was pretty shaken up and it took some time to stop my hands shaking afterwards, but i think what really got to me was how lucky i was in general and also that i was in the car not on the bike.

There is no way I could have pulled off the swerve and would likely have hit the curb/ditch or the blokes car.

Sometimes it pays to have four wheels!

I've told you before - stay away from anything with an engine!!!!

You're a liability!!!!:lol:;););):lol::lol:

Sorry, couldn't resist - seems you were pretty lucky (or unlucky!!!) hope you're feeling OK now.

Sorry to hear about it but glad you're OK.

Wondered why we didn't see a glowing Lily and a sweaty JPM last night:o

JPM 02-Dec-2004 18:22

BDG.... Well when she arrived for the squash match the delightful mascara (sp?) down her face from the tears.... and then a hectic hour in the squash courts, I was pooped !!

But by all accounts the drivert sounded like a right idiot, luckily no harm done to her or the car

TP 02-Dec-2004 19:26

Glad you're ok Lily!

Sheesh .....

Doesn't bear thinking about had you been on the bike Lily. Serves to re-confirm my decision to retire from road riding.

Yep, it must have been a tough choice JPM. Take a drive in the dark to see a few friends, or stay at home and drool over the tasty new bits for the bike, unwrapping that beautiful carbon with the curvaceous lines and the ...ahem. (seen the photos elsewhere).
Still, glad Lily's OK(?).
You missed out on the warm mince pies at the Church. (Gill ate yours).
