speedo cable...?? where does the speedo cable sit? I have put the wheel back on and it seems to sit inside the friont caliper - looks dodgy to me! But doesnt look like it will stretch to the outside??? cheers |
From memory I think it routes between the two caliper bolts... |
bradders, get it wrong and it rubs on the fork leg, damaging the cable outer and the fork leg. I found ou the hard way but will need to check my bike tonight if you can't find any piccys. Maybe check out www.ducati.com for some piccys that show you the proper routing. There are still specs and piccys of older bikes in the Service section. Ray |
Just happened to have a pic handy on my pc at work :-) |
On me old 6S it did as the picture above. This was a dealer replacement. On the 6R it runs round the front of the fork leg and through between the 2 bolts as per jpmercer's reply. Good dealer I guess. Though it looks like the caliper does not sit asfluch to the fork leg mounting as the old S brakes. |
Just thinking about this, and looking at the photo above, between the caliper bolts is how it is on my Ohlins, whereas the photo above is of a showa front end, possibly causing the cable route to be different? |
Mine fits between caliper as i know i fitted it wrong once and it rubbed on fork leg. It seems tight, but it will go. [Edited on 10-1-2005 by Lily] |
