Loads of extra gadgets including an FM transmitter so you can play it through your car stereo..!

Have 20gb iPod. One of the most pleasing bits of tech ever made. Use it on commute, at work and in the gym. It's full of albums I've never heard from artists that have been recommended to me, loads of house, and a few jazz/funk classics. Still got 10gb left to fill....

Had an MP3 player for years and it's getting on it's last legs now, so would chop it in for an iPod. There are better bits of kit out there but the iPod looks good and does it's job well.

Had an ipod just over a year now...simply superb bit of kit and if you are into your music in any kind of way...its amust buy.

And the best accessory...a surround sound speaker system that simply plugs into your docking station. Sub woofer and 6 satelite speakers all for about £100. Sounds fantastic. We've got a set of speakers in the kitchen and we are thinkig of putting another set (with another docking station) in the lounge area...so its just a case of pick up the ipod and plug it in anywhere in the house pretty much. I think they even do wireless stuff now!!

We also bought (no bragging intended here!) a small travel unit for it, which consists of a small opening up docking station, with 4 speakers, all in a piece of kit about 6 x 8 inches. Take it anywhere and hey presto...your entire music collection out-loud where ever you go on you travels.

Would be lost without mine now!

Was going to buy a JBL on stage speaker system ring Harv but for some reason that partic one used the american 110V...the others ould have been OK but liked the compact look of the JBL one. They also had a Harmann Kardon speaker setup with a sub and two soundsticks..(all transparent!)..and that sounded superb..!

As for prices..I paid £150 for a 20gb Ipod ...they were opening a new apple store in San Francisco the day after I arrived and you wouldnt believe how much they were selling !! They also launched the shuffle while I was over there (£50!)

I just like the whole accesory thing with speakers/docking stations etc as harvey says....even lasre pointers/torches/dicataphones that plug into it !! It will certainly encourage us to listen to more music..!

Heres the speaker I want...a tad over £80 in US but £130 over here..

Cheers

Got the apple airport express before Xmas. Now the PC is a juke box, plays the MP3s through the stereo in the lounge. Made the house Ipod a bit redundant. I feel a proper car kit coming on. See these guys for details:

and look at the car kits.

not an ipod but similar, I have an iriver ihp H120 (not the catchiest name).

Interface is not as user-friendly as an ipod but much more flexible. I use it to store all of my music (plays back all formats), every digital photo I have ever taken, and all of my work files backed up (it is effectively a plug & play hard drive).

If I was to buy one now, I'd probably look at a 40Gb or 60Gb unit with a colour screen (that can play back photos).

Bought the 'ipod photo' off ebay last week. I've put 150 albums onto it and it's an eigth full! Sounds great through the home stereo even in AAC form. (buy a good set of leads to connect the dock to the stereo-big difference)
Haven't tried Apple Lossless Encoding yet (if I understand it right, it's importing with no loss of quality from the original CD, but half the storage size) but I've heard good things about it.
I love it. Stick it on shuffle and hear stuff you haven't heard in years. Bit pricey compared to some mp3's, but a great bit of kit.
