Heavy cluch We have a 1996 600 monster but the mrs finds the cluch very heavy/hard. Is there anyway of making it easier ??? |
buy a 2005 model? |
Various companies do replacement clutch slave cylinders that cut pull required on the lever by about 30%. Try Neil at Cornerspeed |

Age996 - as Jools says - put the later slave cyl on - or an after market one - try Ebay. Spareshack keeps them in stock too. Alan |
cool will have a look AGE |
Has the '96 model not got the cylinder built into the rhs engine casing? The slave cylinder mod will only work if the slave cylinder is in front of the sprocket on the lhs................ Not sure of an easy fix if it is the earlier type. |

Yes built into casing not like the 916/996:( |
Age - I havent had probs with any of the clutches on the ducati's I've ridden - but I am left handed, so much stronger that side. (even the old cable clutch on Als Lawson isn't a prob, and that has caught a few chaps out:o ) I used to get horse riding clients to strengthen their hand muscles on the weaker hand by clenching & releasing a tennis ball (or similar) - this can be done whilst watching TV, drinking coffee ad infinitum. (do balance up by using in both hands tho) after about 4 - 6 weeks there can be a marked difference Just an idea..... Charlotte |
