paint jobs roughly how much should i be paying for a re.spray on my 996,anyone got any ideas? |
Any where up to £1200 inc wheels for a race rep |
my rvf cost me £850 including the plastic repairs |
Around £750 for a race rep if the body work is in good condition. Try Race Paints at Eastwood, just off M1 J26. |
Depends upon what you are looking to ohave done, original colours or race rep. It might be worth a looky here; http://www.vimoriracing.com/ They'll do a full GRP race rep set for approx £750 for the road (light cutouts etc) - then you can either keep your originals safe and refit when nreselling the bike or stick the originals on ebay and recoup some of the outlay!! rattler i was worried you'd start me off on something with that link, the foggy rep looks good but the fila rep looks a bit naff luckily for my missus it doesnt look that good, i know the guy in mcn rated it but his was 4 a track bike and mines for the road and im not sure about the quality from the pics on the website has anyone had any dealings with them who could put me straight on them as i could be tempted if its good quality gear [Edited on 3-4-2005 by deej] |
I have had some track bodywork off vimori and it was good quality. I believe that the road stuff is made the same but with light cutouts. it did look ok, but not quite up to full road trim obviously. |
You could go for a good quality plain red paint job and then decal the bike up in your "race rep" of choice. Come next season when they go from Fila to Xerox  all you need to do is have a new decal kit done for about £80. Ok the decals are not lacquered in like factory, but, it does mean that you can change the decals and the whole look of the bike for £80. |
Only thing is the decals dont last 2 minutes when there not lacqered and that looks even worse :frog: |

I thought the Chili rep stuff looked pretty good. Vimori normally make pretty decent quality track fairings, but you normally pay a little extra for. I was with the owner this weekend, a really nice guy, his view is that you can buy fairings cheaper, but there's always a compromise on quality. Tim |
