Hi

Hi guys just a quick hello .

Well after many years away from biking ive finally decided to get another . After looking at a shed load of Japanese techno marvels and being totally underwhelmed :puzzled: I thought back to to the fun i had in the early 80,s on a Ducati SD900 sport , To cut a long story short I ended up buying a 900 Superlight  its arriving Tuesday cant wait :D

Welcome and enjoy your duke, you made the right choice. Not sure who the regional organiser is in Yorkshire, but I'm sure you'll know soon enough.

Cheers Stu....thanks to some sort of flu at the moment, I just feel plain bottomless actually :o

But yes - just check out the posts in the 'SS' section and there are always things to keep you amused for hours....

p.s. Compulsory reading is all posts by Nelly and Shaazam - you will be tested later - LOL.

Good luck - Frank

Well the bike was dropped off Thursday

But unfortunately the previous owner broke the top sidestand mounting lug when he hit a pothole (it was in a trailer) :( He knocked £100 of the price though and it was easily fixed with a small bracket using a rather handily placed spare threaded hole so i bought it anyway . Is the sidestand a weakness on modern Duke's , or am i just unlucky ?

Ps. I,ll post a few pics if it ever stops raining

A very warm welcome from me too, Screwy.

I cant say I've heard of anyone having problems with the side stand. Mine seems to hold well as I'm always sitting on the bike with the stand down pretending to be Rossi:lol:

I like the idea of it returning automatically that I'm trying to modify my jap track bike to do the same.

Enjoy

Andy

Welcome to the board Screwy! Just covered another 270 miles on my superlight today with the BHC rideout (bunch of slave-drivers!) and loved every minute of it. :D:D:D

I know they're just a lightly modified SS, but for me the difference is worth having. The SS engine is a (lumpy) gem capable of keeping up with supposedly much quicker rice-rockets, and the handling seems unflappable despite being thrown at some bloody horrible surfaces! I love mine, and she seems to love being caned all the time. As I rode back today I could only think 'she's a keeper'.:D

Cheers,

Ali
