42\" rear projection TV\'s Are these any good? What is the picture like on them? Can't afford a plasma :( |
How much are you talking? |
If your room is big enough to accomodate one of those monsters then you can probably stretch to a plasma! Remember that the quality remains long after the price is forgotten. |
Also bear in mind that plasma ones are only usually guaranteed for 10,000 hours which is about four years typical usage. The rear projection ones that i have seen have been not very good to be fair. A CRT will still out perform any of the moderrn technologies but is a heck of a lot bigger! |

isnt lcd the new kid on the block ???? |
They did a test on the Gadget Show a few weeks back and the CRT beat the lot in terms of picture quality. |
I wouldn't be buying any tv bigger than 32" unless it was High Def compatable and since any domestic HD format has yet to be ratified... |
Good point. Very few TV's are high def compatible at the moment. |
RP? Eeeewwww. Never have liked them and doubt I ever will. Get the biggest CRT you can, still the best for PQ. |
