Whoops Binned the 999S an hour ago. Cold tyres + slippery roundabout. Wish I'd overslept this morning! R-H side's a mess, as is the screen and nose cone but my protective clothing did its job - just a few aches and a cut finger. How the hell am I going to do Brands Indy on the 10 August on a 750 Sport? Might as well stay in bed that day. :sniff: |
Sorry to hear this Loz, but glad to hear that you are okay. You might be underwhelmed by the power of the 750 but it should still be fun. If you can't sort out your clothing for the 10th you can borrow my gear - I think we are about the same size. Chi |
Glad to hear that you are OK and fit to to get out again, the bike and gear can be fixed or replaced even if its not by 10th so you will back up to speed sooon :burn: |

I most likely need a responsible adult around when it comes to bleeding the front brake - as I am bleeding useless at that. Right, let's see what we've done: D= destroyed, U= usable RH Fairing Upper & Lower (D) Nose Cone & Screen (D) RH Fairing/Mirror mounting (D) RH Air Tube (D) RH Mirror (D) F Mudguard (D) F Brake Reservoir Cover (D) F Brake Lever (D) Throttle Twist Grip (U) R Brake Lever & Peg (D) RH R Indicator(D) RH Clip On and Bar End (U) RH Foot Peg (U) Clutch Cover (U) Tail Section (behind/under seat) (U) Rear Fairing (U) And: Gloves (did a damned good job saving my hand) (D) Hole in leathers (right shoulder) (U) All in all, I am pretty close to being able to put the bike back on the road in time for Brands on the 10th but there are a couple of show-stoppers - notably the fairing/mirror mounting, the mirror, the rear indicator, rear brake lever peg, front brake reservoir cover and probably most importantly, the time, tools and expertise to fudge the bits I can get away with. Questions: 1. Do I really need to take out the front wheel to remove/fit the front mudguard on a 999? Looks like it to me. 2. Is it possible or desirable to patch a small hole in your leathers? 3.
