50mm Termi`s

I have just purchase a set of 50mm Termignoni pipes for my 916.
The pipes came off a 996 and come complete with size convertor pipe, straps, springs and the E-prom.
What do I need to do to put these on my 916 and what difference can I expect.

You'll need some spanners and allen keys and a chip puller & a little bit of time to line them up straight. I would recommend making sure you have the right chip for 916 with 50mm cans.

Power gain - absolutely nothing in my experience. Sound and look good though.

so other than just bolting them on, do I need to get a 916 e-prom to make them work.

Totto 30-Aug-2005 19:03

Yes an e-prom suited to 50mm pipes for best results

Sounds better than the last night at the proms!

If you fit the 50mm termis do you have to chip it ? meaning if you didnt fit a chip would it run ok ?????

ziggi 31-Aug-2005 08:29

you can certainly put them on and give a few runs to see what It's like but any more than that might not be good for the engine

Wouldn't have thought it would do the engine any problems, its only affecting the fuel/air mixture surely?

Worst case it'll run a bit rough until the mixtures sorted by the replacement chip.

The air/fuel mixture is somewhat critical though, you don't want it too lean and going bang.

Totto 31-Aug-2005 13:28

E-proms are not expensive , not really worth the risk
