reworked forks those that had had their DD forks reworked; did you notice much of an improvement in feel/handling? |
Andy said he did, big time on the Snot. AK did notice a difference with them too |
Yep, Go to K Tech Racing - they are the business! Just of the M1 in the midlands, quite a long waiting list. |
I spoke to the lads at Ktech about a month ago, they reckon theres nothing they can do with 620 monster forks . If you find out otherwise let me know. Butch |
Maxtons did a good job on the Snots' forks - she was an M600. Will be looking into getting the tango queen sorted out over the winter too |
Neil Spalding at Sigma Performance did mine, he transformed them. They went from a very thin custard to something you could actually grab the brakes on - sensational job. |

cost.? and did they change springs and oil grade.? |
sorry to be dim...but its just heavier springs and fork oil isnt it?? Its not like 916 etc which have all the adjustment valves and bits. Therefore, why pay someone to do it if you can do it yourself and spend the dosh on getting it set up after? Not sure about later forks but early ones can even be done by me!! I just replaced a fork seal and put a bit more oil in my (road-going) monster and the difference is stark! I was quoted £100 to do this job - took me a couple of hours and i have £80 left |
Aha!:smug: Bradders, AK does all our road bike forks - springs, seals, oil etc, along with lots of other things, saving us money. The race ones got re-valved, springs etc - the whole internals were done for the class. Retail race re-working, would usually be about £400, which we didnt pay, as AK had a deal through a mate..... HTIOH? |
To be honest I can't remember the cost. I'd have to dig out the receipts and I couldn't be ar$ed hopping around the house at the moment trying to find them. Bradders it was a different oil, setting the airgap, different springs and a few other minor things ... And yes it's relatively easy to swap them over but what oil do you use? What springs are best? What should your airgap be? All mine are non-standard and very far from settings that work for MW for example, which are also non-standard - same with the setup of my rear shock. That's not just our weight difference either, but our styles of riding. |
