I\'m technically not eligible to race 583\'s apparently ...

Just a wake up call to anyone else who :

1) ran a 675 last year (not a 583)
2) has some recent race experience
3) was hoping to 'just' put it back to 583 for next year

well technically you won't be eligible under the current regs.

If you wernt aware of this you need to talk to the mc asap.

Phil, my understanding is that this is still under revue, a decision has not been reached, - just checking this with the RC.

You see I tried the cheap 620 we bought at the brands td, and realised that the 620 engine could be worth the extra money cos it felt so much better then the 675, so hatched a cunning plan to try and find a way of running in both classes (old and modern ?) without taking all winter prepping yet another bike.
Checked with the mc that I was eligible for 583 cos I read the regs (!) but was reassured, so filled out a form to enter both classes.
I ended up buying rattler's, and took delivery at the w/end.
All sorted for 06 !!!?
I then got phone calls to 'slow me down' a bit.

ok - fair enough - if 583's are to be ring-fenced for novices, then I'm not eligible. whatever.

BUT - if I only had the bb - what was I expected to do next year ?
Was I (or whoever) expected to 'just' shell out the money (3k5) and 'just' change classes ?

Ian - is there now going to be changes to the 2006 rules then?

It would be great to get this all sorted out asap, to save others like Phil of having been possibly caught up....
:)

Thats all fine and dandy, but rumours and partial-information fly around here so much that I want my 'cunning plan' out in the open.

What I *dont* want is for someone to complain they didnt know what I wanted to do.

What I also *dont* want is a bike sitting in my garage which I can't use next year when someone might be looking for one !
Know anyone who might like to buy a bike for next year's 583's ?

HMM this one just goes on and on...............
I have been assured by chris on numerous occasions that I have a grid slot in the 583 class, If things keep on changing there will be no grid, is this all rumour or panic or what ??
Im sure Chris will be along shortly so calm things down.
