Shock Removal - help !

Still having a shocker (groan) getting the std showa unit out.

Now got the top bolt undone, and the bikes balanced niclely on some axle stands, but the bottom one doesnt want to know...is that some sort of collar on the other end..am I right in assuming its juts an 8mm bolt that needs undoing ? :puzzled:

At the moment im just trying an allen key with an extenion tube and lashings of WD40. I suppose next step is plusgas and an 8mm allen socket ?

Any advice appreciated !!

give the WD some time to work.
the bolt goes through and attaches to the nut on the other side which has a flat piece on it that locks onto the swing arm.
get a ratchet on it but make sure it doesn't start to turn at the other end.
pretty much what you already know

if you are not in great need of you allen key you could cut it and put a socket on it.
otherwise I can send you one tomorrow ?

Heat-do you have a hot air gun?.Often enough to free the buggers.

Also try and tighten more, that sometimes frees it up to loosen, some nuts/bolts actually tighten in the opposite direction to normal (just a suggestion!!) I've got the mother of all socket sets, and tons of allen keys if your interested, am only round the corner...
