Official Points Table Anyone???????? Do we get a points table this year? I knew MW had some uses  ;) |
Not official yet, but I keep hoping :) http://www.desmotrader.co.uk/dd_standing/ Btw, what does starter mean? Jump start? |
It means that the person started, but did not finish. Nice points table too Tonio ;) |

Isn't it DNF?... |
I sent an e-mail to CB last Monday he said he had done the spread sheet and it was just being checked and should be out tomorrow (last Tuesday) I have done one but did not want to post it till the scoring method was agreed. Both Doms and Tonios have used last years points system. The 2006 rules indicate that there is a 5, 4, 3 and 2 point advantage for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Does this mean then that the points scored by the winning rider will depend on the number of rider who finish:puzzled: If so then it is a bit odd as some one with two second places could lead the championship over someone with two first places. Yes. I don't know where you got the results from, but if someone has 'started' but does not have a finishing position - I would assume that they did not finish??? Call me a detective ;) |

Yes, I re-read that rule too, but I think I came to the conclusion that the old points system would work out pretty much the same. There are 30+ riders in each class, and the new points system works on 25 riders entering - therefore, the 'old' system is still correct. I think. Unless we're working it out per race meeting - which would be crazy. |
I reckon the rules are pretty clear. We have enough riders signed up for points down to 25th place, so the only change from last year is the points for 3rd to 6th have decreased (gawd knows why!). It's not nearly as flash as Tonio's version but updating last year's table gives... Class A |
And class B |
Well I think that the points system is a crock of shite. Why should it be that because you win a race you get an extra 5 points, 2nd place gets 4 extra points etc etc. This system could lead to a situation where someone could win the championship with some good results but the second place man who could have had a very consistent session getting second places in all their races. Can someone please explain this system to me? Murray Mint |
