I lurve classic bikes, so happy to ride one if anyone is offering ;)

I'd settle for one of these...

Fank yooo :D

phil_h 09-Apr-2006 19:45

Yep.
Whenever you like.

This is my classic ducati 350 racer

and if you're interested, this if my vintage velocette 500 racer

I'll be racing them both at crmc-Lydden the week after dd-Brands, then at vmcc-Oulton the week after that.

Ooh :eureka: - I've got an excuse for riding carefully at Brands now !

Coooooooool :D:D:D:D:D:D

I'd love a go on the 350 if that's possible at some point.

Are they expensive to buy? A runner preferably?

Thanks Phil ;)

Yeah me too please Phil?! That would be cool.

What tyres do you run them on? How sticky are they and how do they compare with the diablo's?

phil_h 09-Apr-2006 20:41

I've been threatening to bring the 350 to a dsc trackday but something gets in the way each time - like not being able to go :sniff:
However, the offer for anyone to ride it is still open, its just my organisation that stops it happening.

The tyres are a bit narrower than you are used to :D but they are proper race rubber, usually with the same compound as last years superbike tyres.
I use Avon Venoms, 90/90x18 front and 120/80x18 rear, which are made in wiltshire I believe !
The compound seems quite similar to the diablos actually, which is a good testimony to the diablos.
Its the brakes that are the biggest difference ... I'm still trying to come to terms with the dd brakes :D

Cool. Would like to just see one too, I fink they're gorgeous!!!

Always liked that style race bikes

I've got almost enough to make another one Dom, if you're interested.
It needs a piston, crank, con-rod, 3rd gear and probably a straight-cut primary drive. :P

HELP!!!

Can someone translate that?

:lol::lol:

I'd love to Phil, but at the moment I'm skinter than a skint thing that is very skint!!!

Hopefully things will be better in a month or 2, and then I may start looking around.

I'll rack your brains during the season ;)

nice bikes.
Interesting about the tyres though.
I used to scrape out sidestands, centrestands and footpegs all through the eighties on small rubber. Back then a 120 was a big deal. My old Z550 had 4.25's on it and never slipped once even under much duress.
And yet on modern tyres I've had a few 'moments', Strange.
