Genny advice please What size of genny would one need to get, that can run a set of tyre warmers, boil a kettle & run a hair dryer? (not all at the same time!:p ) Hopefully one that isnt to huge to drag about - would a 720w do? If not - what should I look for? I sold my old one 5 years ago which had a push start on it, as I was no longer doing the national equestrian competing circuit. Ideas/advice please over this w/end (whilst AK is away off racing & wont be able to see this post till Monday when it ought to be buried), as I'm looking to get one in the next week or so. If it could run a set of large hedge clippers too, that would be great, as I could then use it at the stables for field/hedge maintenance C:) knowing stuff-all about electrickery:borg: |
min requirment for Kettle & set of tyre warmers is 2KVA. 720w will heat one tyre warmer but not 2 fully. Chris.:burn: |
I got a 2800w genny brand new from ebay. I think it was £170. It'll run a pair of warmers and a kettle quite happily. Its is a bit heavy to move around though. |
Agree with chris - 2kW minimum. Your hedge clippers are probably at least 1kW anyway. xx |
Cant you just get a long extention lead,75 miles ought to be ok for Donny! Butch |
If you need one for donnington you are welcome to borrow mine. I'm only about 15 miles from the circuit. |
Cheers all so far. Wont need one for Donny as I'm not going anyway, and with only the one bike they wont want tyre warmers, but thanks for the offer Rockhopper:) Am hoping to find one for AK's birthday the following week. So, consensus is I need to get a min of 2KVA then. Obviously these are not stocked in Prada or Ducati stores, so where should I be looking (apart from Ebay) where I could go & collect one from with my credit card:confused: |
