Fuel line QD connectors I want to put a pair on the 888.Whats the best ones?Ducatis own?Triumph do some,i believe.M and P also. Ideally i want straight ones.Anybody fitted aftermarket ones? |
I got mine from A&R racing off their van in the race paddock, they are fine on my 600SS which runs fairly low fuel pressure for feeding the carbs, I have yet to fit the ones to my 620 which runs higher pressures as its fuel injected. Hopefully they will be OK, Can't tell you what make they are at the moment as they're at home and i'm not, they would reasonably priced though |
We use them on our 620 without any problem, makes taking the tank off really easy. I think they came off ebay but look very much the same as what A&R sell. |
I've thought about fitting them on the 851, but was worried about leaks from the joints. The thought of leak + heat from the engine with the obvious result put me off. Having said that, when I used to ride Triumph bikes you had to 'tickle' the carbs to start them, which resulted in petrol dripping onto the hot motor and exhaust pipes. Aah those were t' days. |
Hi, Iv'e fitted the A&R type 8mm id to my "92 strada, been on there a few years now with no problems so far. Steve Robins s.w. |

Hi, just been out to my workshop.......the original hose fitted to the 851/888 is 13 od / 8 id mm the qd fittings on my bike are nylon/white plastic in 8mm id , they are marked "CPC". I have cranked the fuel pressure up on my bike as high as 4.5 bar, changed all the clips for Jubilee type clips (in s/steel ) with no problems, i think if you were to go smaller, you may have problems with the fuel flow, on a tuned 888. The original Ducati connectors are made by CPC (Colder Products Co.) http://www.colder.com/asp_main/default.asp You can buy the plastic or metal Colder connectors for about one tenth the cost of the Ducati price from a Colder distributor. People are selling these same connectors on ebay for ridiculous prices. Brian |
