Ragtops

I've got a convertible with a black fabric roof.

I have to park it under trees and, whenever it rains, algae drips off the trees onto the roof. Once on the roof, since algae is a living thing, the weave of the fabric seems to offer the ideal nooks and crannies for it to grow and there is now a faint green bloom all over the roof.

Normal car shampoo doesn't seem to touch it, the only thing I've found will shift it is the power spray on a jet wash (but I don't want to go over my whole roof with that). I've had a squint in Halfrauds and other such places but I haven't seen any stuff to shift it.

Has anybody else had this? Any ideas on killing the algae without bleaching the black top or going through the waterproofing?

Many different types of fish actually eat algae, perhaps you could try some fish Jools?

Hope this helps.

Oh my Cod! Stupid boy Pike...

Actually I can't think why I didn't think of that before, what a dumb Halibut I've been. I've been told that the best Plaice to take it to is a reliable Tuna, but it's not really engine work is it...

I just thought I'd Trawl around the Net to see it I could Crab any good ideas rather than play the raw Prawn

I had a similar problem with an old SL some years back. Try using a bowl of soapy water with washing up liquid in, and scrub with a stiff scrubbing brush.

Try this guys site - to say he is 'anal' about cleaning cars would be somewhat of an understatement http://detailfinish.co.uk

Or else try this site http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/shop/e...rior/c_20.html
