Which helmet?

Seasons greetings chaps and felicitations from spain! Done only 232 miles on me brand new 749S and the bloody Moses D'esquadra decided they wanted a closer look at it on Xmas eve........ Had the cheek to charge ME 60 euro for the priveledge too! Thing is it's got me thinking philosophically, like perhaps they thought I was taking the pee as they had been following me for about ten clicks and I seemed to show little respect for their authority and it's kinda like Ducati's fault really. I DO tend to look in me mirrors nice and regular BUT me elbows do get a little boring if you seen them once. Then I realised it's not Ducati's fault at all - t'is the fault of AGV since the good old AGV stealth bulldog has a rather pronounced curve in the base which allows it to stick into me jacket which prevents me head swivelling (well that and the multiple rolls of fat on me neck, so perhaps after all it's Mr Kipling's fault........)

Anyhow, it has me thinking about how 60 euro woulda gone some way towards some more cakes or even another helmet so here goes - Does anyone got any good recommends? I find this one a bit noisy and restrictive. It does for my commuter - a hornet, but the duke needs something finer methinks.

Would appreciate any recommends on helmets.......... and/or cakes.

Happy new year all! Oh and by the way, the bestards broke my credit card while they were robbing me! Be warned.......

i wouldnt put anything else on my head now, ive had a shoei kagayama rep and a agv titech rossi rep, neither matched the fit and quality of my old arai quantum f so i bought the haslam rep astro r and its perfect for me

Here is an Astro R replica for £250

Gotta agree with Arai being my personal top choice.

For a quiet helmet though the BMW/Schuberth seem very good.

Infinity do them as well so here is their full listing instead of me searching around:

Oh for the days when we didn't need the bloody things.......

I got fed up with the noise from my Arai, I just keep it for the track now. I got a Schuberth S1 and am really impressed. It is just so quiet, really well made and so comfy. The only downside is that they are German so are not too big on lairy graphics if that's your thing. Their carbon S1 is superb, but at £700 it should be.

arais are a bit noiser than some when all vents are open but the comfort and fitt more than makes up for it. the ducati arai with clear and dark visor cost £500

Aria Quantum F for track days and various Simpson's on the road, current one is the RX8 Speedway.

If you looking for a quiet helmet with good peripheral vision then give the Simpson's a miss :D Ear bleeding noisey with seriously limited vision in any direction .. including straight ahead.

The Arai is a good fit and is one of the quietest helmets I've worn.
