Problem with tyre
 
The back tyre on my 1995 ss has worn out what should I do?

Pirelli Diablo appears to be one of the tyres of choice at the moment if u want something sporty to replace it with - just make sure you use something to match your front with OR buy a new pair !!!

Take your bike on a winter track day for thrills and spills. A bald rear tyre should just about keep you amused ;-)

Agree with Dave, 010's will give you all the wet/dry grip you can handle on the road . Fordie

Gotta agree BT010 are a good road tyre and not bad for occasional track use.

Don't know what u have fitted at moment but i have a pair of part worn Michelin Pilot Sports 120/70-17 front and 180/55-17 rear that i took of because they didn't have enough left on for a continental trip. The rear is probably too big for your bike but they're in Manchester and yours if you can use them.

If anyone else can use them your welcome to them for free.

Yes I did have a drink or two three four but it always makes for an interesting thread. I fitted a front 010 just before I took the bike off the road for winter and Im going to fit one on the back as well.
I found Natinal Tyers to be well priced at £76.00 for a front fitted to the rim off the bike.
(Natinal?) have I spelt that right?

They're on my 900ssie and work well on road and feel very solid on track,..just moved to inters and held my own with jap il4s and even took an RSV at edwinas at mallory, good under hard breaking, predictable when ready to let go, again coming out of hairpin and it starts to slide but not so that control is lost, just keep throttle steady, ease of maybe just, but just a little, grips without suspension loading up and alls good and well again

mort and let me know how you find them, assuming you get some. Worth doing F+R at same time, costs a bit more and keep part worn front for "emergencies"
Probably dont need to say, but will for the sake of it,
On road take it easy for first 100 miles or so to get rid of all the 'orrible releasing compound they put on them to gettem out of the mold easier
