Quickie Question Just a quicky, picking my bike up Friday, was going to get some Top up oil, what should I put in it?? or should I ask the garage where I bought it from to see what they serviced it with?? it an 02 748 E, and its red not yellow, so that will prob make a difference:sing: |
Topping up the oil!!! whats that then? only time i've had to do that is when i changed it |
Do a search for oil and you'll find a few posts about various types. I use Shell Advance 15/50 |
Find out what your dealer used first you don't want to go out and buy a bottle of say 10/50 and find they put 15/50 in it |
But make sure it's for the red bikes ;) You don't want to put yello woil in and slow it down now ... TP |
Top it up with Slick50! Go on, you know you want to! :borg: [Edited on 18-5-2004 by psychlist] |
Nigel can sell you some vegetable or corn oil....................Mazola I believe!!!!:sing: |
By the way has anybody ever tried slick 50 in a duke? |
I use Silkolene 10W/40 and am perfectly happy with it, I didn't realise 10W/50 was recommended although I remember Topitoo saying thats what he was using. From the Ducati.com website Ducati uses Shell Advance Ultra with SAE 10W-40 Grade in all of its models. http://www.ducati.com/bikes/service....ng&detailId=46 |
Quickie Question Don't you just love the Italians. It specifically states in the manual I have 15W 50. it also states in the dealers own workshop manual for most models 15W 50. The dealer also refused to put the 10W 40 that I'd bought into the bike, something about kanckering the rocker arms. |
