speed camera question two weeks ago today i got flashed by a speed camera  but i havent heard anything as yet, do you recon iv got away with it ? and is there a maximum time theyve got to notify you in? I read somewhere that only 1 in 10 cameras are operational at any time.......heres hoping :( |
If thats true Weeksy im a free man :bouncy: |
Think they have 14 days from the date of the offence to issue the NIP, the time it takes to reach you is not included. Assuming the bike is registered at your address, allow 3 weeks before breathing safely again. They only have to notify the registered owner, so if it's a company car/lease car/hire car it can take ages to come through.... Good luck... |
Bolloks :barfy: |
2 weeks but ,i believe, if the camera only flashed once,it didn't have any film in,si you should be ok:o |
two things to clear up. 1) there are forces that have say 30 camera sites, that can flash, but only say 20 internal recording gizmos, so although the equipment flashes you may well not of been recorded. 2) dont get too hooked up on this 14 day thing and nip's. Weeksy is wrong, there are several things that can have an effect on the route of the nip, clearly if its a company vehicle, could be one. A hire care another. Lets say the original nip goes to the company, they say who was driving, and a 14 days start again.... sorry mate. |
The vans regesterd in my name, and the camera only flashed once... its now been 16 days and with it being bank holiday that will take it to 19 days at the earlyest and iv still heard nowt Im hoping i dont as it was thru road works on a duel carrage way, 55 in a 30 :o |
The 14 days is 14 working days though isnt it? |
no. We have got to get away from this fixation with 14 days. However, If he is the r/o then i would suggest this is the simplest of scenarios, and that a period for an nip has now passed. Obviously without the full facts its difficult, and this is an estimation..... :oink: |
Speed and kids uncle porry I dont condone speeding but we all do it at times, around town I keep to the limits. having said that if a child gets killed on the rail tracks peoples immediate responce is whats the stupid kid doing on the rails, not that its the drivers fault. roads are not play areas and kids should be taught firmly about the dangers. roads are the countrys infrastructure not a play area. a year ago a child was killed in a 40 limit by a car inside the limit the kid run through a hedge straight onto a dual carigeway 10m from a pedestrian crossing. how do you think the driver felt and i suspect the police automatically presumed he was speeding as they do. so your comments are not particularly helpfull. |
