Servicing - West Yorks

The bike is now due for it's 3 year/12000 mile service. Does anyone have any recommendations for an independent in the West Yorks area?

Have seen Carl ward's (Leeds) ad in MCN, anybody used him?

Ducati Leeds price seems somewhat excessive!

Rushjob 02-Sep-2004 21:43

Nelly is only 40 odd miles South of Leeds.

8 out of 10 Ducati's said they preferred Cornerspeed

I'll second that...My bike is a Parallell import...I had my duke serviced by cornerspeed forfeiting the warranty...stuff the warranty!...It's the customer service, and trust that is more important.
Alot of people on here won't take their bike anywhere else!

???Right Nelly, where's my tenner.:P:lol:

Felix 02-Sep-2004 23:50

Had my bike their as well, but I am still lacking Cornerspeed! Mind you, it was cheap!

Seriously, though, strongly recommend a visit to Neil's excellent shop!

ils 03-Sep-2004 09:56

I'll second and third that. I had a 6000 mile service at Cornerspeed yesterday after they were recommended by members and wouldn't now go anywhere else, even made the trip from London!

yeti 03-Sep-2004 10:34

Nelly at Cornerspeed no question. It really ought to be law by now. Nobody else compares. IMMSC he will even collect/deliver your baby! Everyone else simply pales by comparison.

That OK Nelly? Send your cheque to the normal address...........:sing:

pj748r 04-Sep-2004 22:54

Nelly at cornerspeed, picked mine up today after he serviced it,running great now it's got the right plugs fitted(a certain north west ducati located not far from Manchester had fitted the wrong plug in one cylinder and didn't change the other one!!).Only sour note(nothing to do with nelly)think i got speed camera'd in Leek on the way home(license has only been clean for a week!!):flame:
260 mile round trip for me,worth it.

BDG 04-Sep-2004 23:24

Sod Neil and his service, the butty shop round the corner does excellent bacon butties, well cheap and they call you "Duck":frog:

Ever since i got mine serviced at Cornerspeed i've had naked ladeez throwing themselves at the bike, must be the 15/50 Old Spice that Neil used:lol:

pj748r 04-Sep-2004 23:44

Everyone around there and into Derbyshire and Cheshire calls you "duck"(very pleasant and much better than,"hey ********"),me missus was well impressed on Tuesday when we took the bike across to Nelly's(she paid for my petrol on the way!but i had to pay for the car's on the way home!!)

Ducati servicing

If you don't want to travel to Nelly's - and no dis-respect here.

Try Ducati Technical Services near Wakefield.

He has been around desmo engines for over 30 years and certainly knows his stuff.

He'll insist on a dyno run first, just to get to see what needs to be done to your engine as part of the servicing. Give him a call.

Non taken ;)
My first Ducati was one of Pauls ex-race bikes and it was superb. The guy is a perfectionist and his 2V racers were legendry.
Top fella to. ;)

Jasper 05-Sep-2004 19:27

Can vouch for Nelly and his service every time. There's also John Cellier at wakefield, who is also very good.

Good grief are wobbling brea5t5 allowed :o

There is also:
John Warrington 01653698258, Malton - but he was very busy when I last tried to use his services so still not tried him personally.

John Cellier (Ducati-John) seems very good and I believe he also has an ST that customers might be able to borrow while servicing etc is on-going.

Here is an interesting write-up from John he sent me a while back:

chris99 19-Nov-2004 13:38

Yeah he emiled me that 2. The bit about the rag in the engine isnt good though is it. I ended up going to Ducati Leeds and i think that the service was really good. I even got a free part worn rear tyre in for free from Jane in the service dept ( Nice person );)

They even paid for a couple of rockers for my bike even though they didnt have too.

Iconic944ss 25-Nov-2004 12:53

Turns out John Warrington has his own website:

http://www.squeezer.co.uk/jwmotorcycles/

I'd didnt realise he had a motoliner Jig and a Dyno......

On Topic of recommended dealers, judging by the number of positive (and sometimes negative) comments in this thread I'd expected to see a bit more feedback in the dealer ratings table.
How do you vote for a dealer?

Nelly!!!!, Shame on you voting for yourself!!!

Non-libellous comments on dealers would be appreciated (affi davits would probably suffice for some of the less recommended dealers methinks)

:smug: Had to be done!! I'd never had a problem with my bike after looking after it and it put me in first place for 10 votes

Festa748 25-Nov-2004 18:13

had mine done by a lad that is the ducati mechanic from cusworths did a good job.

chrisw 05-Mar-2005 17:36

Service

Well after much delay I have had the bike serviced. I took Jasper's recommendation and let John Cellier at Rothwell do the work. (he's only 4 junctions away from me on the M62).

I would have no hesitation in also endorsing John's service.

John's web site is at

www.ducati-john.co.uk

:burn:

yorkie 07-Mar-2005 19:58

John Warrington is the only bloke that i would trust with my little Monster!! He is very busy, give him a bell though on 01653 698258. Straight talking, if he laughs when you ask him if he can fit you in, then he's busy !!!!!!! ....... Yorkie.
