Loo seat

Anyone know how to stop my loo seat falling down? Its one of those wooden ones and it didnt used to do it. Had it about three years now. Its getting a bit painful!!

Jools 07-Sep-2004 21:01

Leave it down...you know your missus wants you to anyway

nelly 07-Sep-2004 21:06

Velcro on the cistern :sing:

rockhopper 07-Sep-2004 21:15

Thought about the velcro trick but just think about where it would be when you are seated..... Have to make sure its the rough bit on the cistern.

Loz 07-Sep-2004 21:19

Dzu fasteners? The gold ones look the biz!

uncle porry 07-Sep-2004 23:50

hmmm, a piece of string (un-thread one of your vests if you like) drill a hole in the top of the seat, self tap an eyelet to the wall, thread string through seat then eyelet and hey presto ! a bog seat raising pulley system......:D

looks like a 916 rocker doing what its best at :smug:

rockhopper 08-Sep-2004 09:38

NBs996, thats a class idea! I've got a few of those lying around as well. Wonderful.:sing:

Jools 08-Sep-2004 18:55

Jools: "Just make sure you use an opening rocker, not a closing one"

:rodent: "But...Uncle Porry's notion of the string and pulley system is a good one, especially if you could rig it up to the door handle so that it automatically raises the lid when you close the door...."

Jools: "Wait a minute...I think we could be on a winner here..."

:rodent:: "It could save a fortune in light bulbs as well"

Jools: "How?"

:rodent: "Simple. The next time the light bulb in the bog blows, don't bother to replace it, with the string and pulley system between the door handle and the bog seat, simply straddle the string as you close the door and run the crack of your **** down the string until you get to the pan !!!!"

Jools: "Brilliant. I think we should market it before somebody else does"

guest1 09-Sep-2004 14:26

Remove it altogether, it's only there to hide the floaters:lol:

rockhopper 09-Sep-2004 15:21

But its the sitting on bit that keeps falling down. Makes the eyes water when it clobbers the old chap on the way down...

guest1 09-Sep-2004 16:42

Eeeh, when I were a lad, there were no namby-pamby seat. Just the bare ice cold touch of ceramic on skin.
We used to go the toilet whilst it were daylight, at least you could read the toilet paper then.
:D
Have you never roughed it?
