pirelli diablo\'s - top tyre Just got a set of standard diablo's on my 748r today and i have to say i'm impressed. They feel great and the bike seems to drop into corners much quicker / easier than my old dragon evos ever allowed, dunno if they have a rounder profile or what but it work's - perhaps all the hype i've been reading of late is right. |
Have to agree. I've just put a set on mine to, and right from the off, even before scrubbing in, they felt really good. They warm up really quick. Steering is much improved over the BT010's and high speed changes in direction seem a lot easier. Back on Pirelli again for me :P |
Superb tyres! Wait till you see how long they last too! Just over 4k on mine at the moment - the back tyre looks like it will last at least another thousand or so. The front still looks brand new. ( I used to get 2.5k out of a rear Dragon Evo ) They also got top rating in this weeks MCN test. :sing: Happy! |
Will hopefully try the Diablo Corsa's in the near future, wanted my mate to try them at the TT but he wanted to stick with the Super Corsa's. |
So whats the full name, and how much? |
I paid £180 for front and rear for the standard pirelli diablo which was a ride in ride out service, fitting and balancing etc. I thought this was ok for saving me hassle especially as i don't have a front fork stand as of yet which makes getting the front wheel off a tad tricky. But i'm sure you will get them via the net or mail order for maybe £20 or £30 cheaper but then you have to sort fitting etc. |
I mst try some TT100`s some time , they worked well on my old 750 sport! |
Nah! roadrunners! :frog: |
SM Mk2s is the way to go |

How do the Pirelli Diablo's rate in the wet? I was put off Pirelli's after riding with a Pirelli Dragon MTR01 front and MTR02 rear in a midsummer cloud burst, I'm normally pretty quick in the wet, but found it very scary, no feed back and a lack of grip. |
As good a tyre as I've ever ridden in the wet! I use mine almost every day to commute in all weathers. In the wet my cornering speeds are only a matter of 10mph down on those in the dry. Damn good. :P |
Dang...so they're good on ST's as well then, and I'm trapped in the middle of a tyre cycle... You know, an 010 on the back with probably 2-3K left on it and I need to replace the front. My fronts seem to last one and a half rears so it's going to be another 5-6K before I need to replace both together. I'm tempted by the £170 ride in ride out price for the trackday, but Mrs Jools is already giving me severe earache about spending £90 on a new front. I just couldn't get that AND a MotoGP ticket past her. Never mind...looks like diablo's at the next full tyre change then. |
