Unatainable Dymags

Noticed a guy in the US selling a shed load of Dymags wheels and 900ss was mentioned.

I'd settle for a white rear (lol - I think - and the bike as well) but sadly the guy has not replied to my Email asking if he will ship to the UK.

How come we dont see many Dukes with Dymags? Or have I just not been looking hard enough - its nice to keep everything 'Italian' I know but...British is Best ???

Link to all items :(

I'm sure Tim will be along soon to comment :)

Frank,

It also looks like he's only got single wheels, no matching pairs.

Rgds,

Rob

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: yeh, why not!!!!

I did have Dymags - DP Carbon/Magnesium jobbies, but they've gone the way of the ebay now....

I think that they don't look as good as the Marchesinis, but then the Marvics don't look as good either.

Now where are OZs made? They look the mutts......

I think dymag have an arrangement with ducati as they make the carbon/magnesium stuff under licence for DP..in return for not pro-activley marketing wheels for our bikes...now if you were to phone there office discretely and ask them nicely (which I KNOW some people have had a result with)..then that may be different..;):D

Surely - not implying that products with 'DP' on them are costly than identical items from the same manufacturer?

:eureka:

gasmanrus 05-Oct-2004 21:12

i bought my full carbon 5 spoke dymags at the road racing show at alexander palace (bikesportz.com i think). i checked the list price at ducati london south & the rear cost more than what i paid for both!

they look so lovley you could hang them on the wall in the living room
mmmmmmmmm..........

How much do you think the black rear for the 900SS is worth?

I'm seriously tempted to get it shipped to a friend in the states but I'm not sure how much tax I'll pay when it gets shipped, and how much a front is going to cost me from a uk retailer.

Iconic944ss 06-Oct-2004 08:43

Ali,

If you have a friend in the States you are literally laughing as he/she could simply mark the parcel "Replacement part shipped under warrenty" and hey presto - no import tax.

Someone on here gave this tip away so time ago - try a search on import tax / duty

Around £700 for a standard Magnesium...

http://www.pdq1.co.uk/

Click on wheels at the top, then Dymag at the bottom....

also.....

http://www.dymag.com/Ducati.htm

also.....

11hrs & 37mins remaining @ £168.17 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o:o:o

Iconic944ss 07-Oct-2004 10:49

The black rear Dymag sold for £230

The white rear £210...!!!

Terrible - they should have been allowed to come back home I reckon!

End of Line.

ali 07-Oct-2004 12:28

I lost out on both in the closing stages....

The guy who bought them also bought several of the others so I have a feeling he's a dealer. He'll probably sell them on at about $900 so he would have gone a lot higher than I could've afforded.

The main problem was that they're not my favorite wheels so I wasn't willing to break the bank for 'em.

Top 6 Lightweight Wheels:

BST Carbon
PVM 10 Spoke Mag
Dymag 5 Spoke Carbon/Mag
Marchesini 5 Spoke Mag
Marvic Penta Mag
Dymag 5 Spoke Mag

Cheers,

ali
