Just to let you know...

my husband came in from work tonight, clasping a bunch of flowers - for me!:o

..he said 'they are for you, no particular reason - just you'

ahhhh:D so luverly - and he hasnt done that for a long long time, bless. I know its been a bit tough lately - its nice to know he still cares:)

Just had to share that with you:)

Good for you CK. It's nice to know there are still some truly functional relationships out there. However, I would have to point out that there are certain thought processes that might be going on in the average cynical woman's mind.
1. ....

No, no Alan - congratulations on being a decent husband (oxymoron - not necessarily!)

AK 21-Oct-2004 22:56

 ta for that Ruth:lol:

Its his twice a year offering - as he refuses to buy flowers for times like valentines day etc, as he says its just a rip off then:lol:

He does come bearing gifts tho - but of the bike cleaning variety, bike mending variety - and very occasionally the odd trinket for the bike too:D

Now, any ideas of how to get him into buying perfume, Jimmy Choo shoes?:puzzled: - not that I'm ever ungrateful for the bike bits: the paddock stand I got for xmas last year was just what I wanted:)

Melnie Mouse 22-Oct-2004 11:51

Ah that's lovely Charlotte.... get him to bring choccies too :) :P

It is nice though, for a guy to do a lovely 'traditional and old fashioned' things sometimes, cos those are always the best.....

I got embarressed once at work, I had flowers sent to me about 2 years ago, and it took me a long time to find out who it was.... - that's annoying tho, cos you can't thank anyone....

Lily 22-Oct-2004 11:57

Maybe he read the romance thread ;)

AK 22-Oct-2004 13:08

Kev - no, Al wears the troosers (well, most of the time;) )

Mel: you are right, he does do the 'old fashioned' things - he even walks between me & the traffic, and holds a car door open for me, if I'm in 'dress' mode.

Lily: I wish, but he doesnt often read forums... maybe I should print it out & paste to the tank of the current bike being worked on???:puzzled:

C'mon guys - have you brought a smile to your lady's face recently?

Bloomin eck, I was just about to add to this thread with ' no wonder Dave came home with flowers for me the other day.... he had read this thread and thought it was a good idea ' but then I realised my flowers were given to me the day before CK posted this first message.......
meaning he did it all of his own accord ( top marks Dave )

There must be something in the water !:lol::lol:

kwikbitch 24-Oct-2004 19:39

I read a magazine once that said..." the longest lasting marriages are the ones where partners have the least highest expectations......"

So perhaps with me doin' the painting, bill payin', tilin', flower buyin', cookin', cleanin', etc, etc
I can see I'm in for a long and happy one then!:lol::lol:;)
