Very cheap 748 sps needs fixing

748 sps year 98 S reg 11400 miles
Full monster mob paint job
Full 50 termis
Power commander
Datatool alarm
Black powder coated wheels
Ohlins shock
Fully floating front discs
Rear paddock stand
some service history
Dual seat conversion

This bike belongs to a mate of mine, who purchased it at a cost of £6,750 a year ago.

Cosmetically, this bike is absolutely stunning ! There is a BUT !

BUT... For some reason, the bike starts and runs fine for a couple of minutes but after that, it then stops and will not turn over and re-start. There appears to be no mechanical noises that would indicate the pistons seizing in the bores. It does not burn any oil nor does it smoke. I personally feel that the bike is suffering from a clutch / bearing related problem.

This bike must be sold within the next few weeks as it is taking up valuable space in my shed.

This bike is for sale at £3,750. I feel that this is an absloute bargain price for this bike, if you are willing to spend some time getting your hands dirty !

Feel free to contact me on 07977 288013 / 01202 710644 for any further information.

Why would you say clutch / bearing related problem....

I'd be guessing that its an electrical / ignition related problem. Can you describe what happens when the bike stops

It's a bloody steal at that price. Shame I'm on the other side of the planet

Fuel starvation?

I'd go for a heat related electrical failure.

I'd also consider buying it myself, but I've just ordered a new car, and can't justify 2 748's and a new car....

I am sorely tempted but dont think I want a sports bike no more. It is gorgeous though. Personall I think its electrical fault as in overheat something.:(:(

could be anything but for that price its got to be worth the risk, might be the time of the year thats putting people off. wonder if the other half would notice another one in the garage :smug:
