DSC exclusive CSS or ESS anyone? I am going to look into the possibilities of a DSC exclusive California or European Superbike School next year. This may be a one or even a two day course depending upon interest. Before I talk to the schools I could do with an iea of numbers, so if you are SERIOUSLY interested, can you add your nickname in a post below and indicate on the poll which school YOU would prefer? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE also Indicate "one" or "two day" in your post. Can you only post once and then only if serious about going, that way we can immediately see from the replies how much interest there is. Those that are serious will probably need to indicate this by means of a deposit with the school. [Edited on 4-11-2004 by yeti] |

ath748 1 or 2 days, don't mind |
CSS for me I'm up for a 2 day school if poss. Rgds, Bill ps: already been on level 1 |
Rockhopper (two day sounds good) |
ElectricSheep CSS Prefer 2 day, but anything will be fine |
whats the cost likely to be and where too cheers |
Monty Has to be CSS-that way we get out current chairman as an instructor. |
its not secretive...from what i can remember lvl 1 is: throttle control turn in points quick turns 2 step turn in and something else i cant remember? |
An idea of cost would be good. |
£300 per day give or take |
Next years costs are £319 per day. I understand if we get at least 10 people to book, then we'll receive a 10% discount. HTH Cheers! Scott |
the "boss" David Cook is on the CSS stand at the NEC show right now, anybody with any questions about it do go and find him. |
I am/would be a complete track day virgin (whahey!) But I would be interested in a 1 or 2 day course with whoever just as long as I learn something and that it is done at a pace I could keep with, you hear so many bad tales of people like myself been left behind somewhat and that the track speeds are beyond them. I don't mind going fast at all it's just that i don't fancy binning my pride and joy trying to keep up. The above probably sounds a bit girly to most of you guys and gals, but hey, I don't mind being honest and kidding myself, your comments would be appreciated.:puzzled: |

Get twist of the wrist 1 and 2... breaks it down in there, but nowhere near as good as sitting in a classroom, being told what to do and why, and then going and doing it |

do the CSS. you wont regret it the spped is built up throughout the day and there is no way you will either be left behind or presurised to go faster than you want. it is a school first and foremost not a trackday. the first session of the day starts with one gear and no brackes so it starts off at a steady pace. you concetrate on learning how to ride properly not on going fast initially |
Hello I would be intrested in either one or two day course, just out of intrest if it were to be a two day course would they be consecutive days? Also being a novice, was wondering if the days were a few days apart would help to take on board every thing learnt on day one. or maybe thats not how it works. regards TopiToo |
if you do 2 days they are most likely to be consecutive days. i did levels 1 and 2 on consecutive days and thought it was great. it is tiring though but it gave me the chance to really push home some of the level 1 stuss on the second day still |
TT, Usually 2 day courses are just that 2 days back to back, the classroom exercises are at a good pace, and I doubt you would feel that you weren't taking something in, so the second day would IMO help cement what you have already learnt, and moves the bar up further You could argue that if you left it a week or more what you have learnt wouldn't be fresh in your mind |
I have had it confirmed from CSS thst they will give us a 10% discount on any of their courses next year prvided we have at least ten members attending. I am going to stick my neck out and suggest we try to go for levels 1 & 2 on consecutive days in March or April that way we get the rest of the season to practice the skills with a view to doing 3 and 4 later in the year. Based upon the above, cost for the course only would be £574.20 plus of course a couple nights B&B. Bike hire is around the 200 quid mark for an R6, but don't see the point in that except maybe for the jocks to save them the long ride. If SERIOUSLY interested in this, U2U me and be prepared to chuck £100 deposit at CSS to hold your place and show your commitment. Come on guys, money - mouth time. :sing: |
Yeti, Sounds promising, but I have done level 1, and a few others have too, so I would obviously want to go down the level 2 and 3 route... |
they normally run levels 1-4 concurrently so you should be able to fit in somehow over 2 days. i will be doing level 4 at some stage but obviously need to know the exact dates. |

Yeti, I've already done 1 and 2 so I want to do 3 and 4. Dickie has already done them all and wants to do two days of 4 I suppose? It's a practice of all the other skills/your weaknesses really. I don't think it will really matter what levels we want to do because they do all of them in separate groups on the one day. I'd prefer March too but I'm getting kinda lost here. Whereabouts are you thinking? Laguna Seca - Rockingham? I would really prefer not to go back to Rocky, not because I crashed there but because I want to learn some other circuits. I forgot to add, I don't have cash until the end of this month for this so it would have to wait until then. Buit I want to know when and where first. [Edited on 5-11-2004 by tp-996] |
CSS don't do Croft but ESS do, Most folks want to do CSS though and Yes, I will arrange it so peeps can do woahtever level they eant to at the same time. Need to speak to Andy first, but March at Rockingham looks most likely and also cheapest. Can't see amny having the dosh to do Laguna, sorry TP |
I've done level one before so would prefer levels 2 & 3. Having said that I'm quite happy to cover level 1 again and then move on to level 2. |
Hmmmm.... Dependent on dates I could be off boarding somewhere |
