Track day fairings?

Has anyone bought any of these?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

Any opinions on quality/fit?
He's also doing single seat units on their own, and says they will bolt to the bip subframe? Is this correct? Whats the best way I can go to a single seat?
Any help/advice much appreciated! :D

Pedro bought a set. He said the fit was not perfect, but for what they will be used for ( the track) I'm not too bothered. Pedro picked them up pretty cheap and I think from the same guy. Pedro's got very short arms and very, very deep pockets:D

I asked this a while ago, as they seem cheap, but I have heard that you "can" get stung for VAT when they come into the UK, etc, etc, so the price will could be more than what you pay on Ebay...

dickieducati 10-Nov-2004 18:34

from my experience you will have to pay import duty and vat etc.

pedro 10-Nov-2004 19:55

the sets are fine, bit tight here & their but they do the job.bit scatty for the road, deep pockets? im boney skint!

Thanks guys.

Pedro...what bike did you fit them to? I'm wondering about the single seat unit fitting on my 749 bip?

pedro 10-Nov-2004 20:19

749r, i havnt had a mess about to much with the seat as its connected to the tank,my bike in bits at the mo as im messing with exhaust. when i get it back together i might have a play with the seat.

If it helps i have just gone through this process of trying to find someone who supplies trackday bodywork and have found that PFR Race Kit will supply the whole lot including seat unit for £370 inc vat but not carriage but only comes in white.Their phone number is 01704 896622

Race Products
As above but self coloured (red) £365 including vat and carriage.
(You can see their products in the Demon Tweeks cat)
In both cases you would have to make a cut out for the side stand.Phone number 01673 842704

I will probably go for the Race product's version simply because it is self coloured so no need to have it painted

Bazzer, try these guys as well as they do self coloured stuff:
Vimori

bazzer sps 11-Nov-2004 13:18

Thanks for that lead Felix - just called them but will not have any available until Jan about £450 complete.

What might be an idea here is to buy a kit between us, we need to find the best of the bunch first, make sure it fits, and then send it over to Barry, get him to take a mold, and any other stuff that might need doing, such as side stands etc

And then he can knock them out in any colour you fancy and I'd imagine better quality and cheaper.

I am assuming a lot here, I would need to speak to him, as the last time I spoke to him he didn't have a 999 kit

i bought a set from racersden in australia. not the cheapest but heard they were good quality and they did a combo of a race front with road sides ie side stand cut out which i wanted. they do coloured and carbon as well as fibreglass and also a combo where carbon is in laid where the airducts are kind of like on the 'r' version. havnt fitted mine yet but quality looks good and seem light and strong. i will take some piccies this weekend but if anyone want to pop round to look at them before they go on, feel free.

bazzer sps 11-Nov-2004 15:08

dickie,
how much did they cost inc shipping etc and how long did it take for them to arrive?
Thanks

dickieducati 11-Nov-2004 15:25

http://racersden.com/

have a look here. i just got the sides and front but in the blended carbon so i think about 450 i did pay import stuff etc of 150 too. its not cheap but they look strong and feel very light and they are coloured. the big thing for me was to have to race front and road sides some people dont seem to let you mix and match. need to compare them to others to get a view really but i heard very good things from a guy in the states so just went for it. took bloody ages to come but i think that was mainly due to them just starting production.
if you do decide to go with them i would ask for a confirmed depatch date just for sure.

might get my finger out and take some snaps tonight.

Can anyone shed some light on the single seat issue?
