North or South

Just wondering what the spread of folk on here is?

Now I know that this gegraphical poll is not accurate based on the true size of Great Britain, but based on the common reference to North, South and Midlands its roughly what people tend to go by.

If you split it correctly I think that Manchester is probably in the south, but for this poll if people can just go with the flow for a bit. Those in Scotland obviously are North ;)

So to try and get an idea, anything below Milton Keynes/Banbury level is the south, anything from MK up to about Stoke/Derby level is midlands and Stoke/Derby and above that is North.

Thanks Folks :)

ps this is where you currently live, not where you are from!

Used to live on the beach, at the bottom of the map towards the middle, now moved so far inland I have to go all the way up to my second floor to see the sea!

see first post ie derby is in the north, so technically as Matlock is above derby its the north!!!

moto748 16-Nov-2004 17:17

It always seem to me that 80 % of the posters on any given bike talkboard live within about a 20m radius in the Home Counties....

Centred on Box Hill, I suppose... :P

Lily 16-Nov-2004 17:20

i kinda agree, hence the reason for the poll.

I see lots of Ducatis up here, but not that many that post on the forums.

Makes me wonder if its not really the split, but more the line of work? Maybe those inthe south are more inclined to have jobs where they have regular access to the internet during the day?

dickieducati 16-Nov-2004 17:23

maybe technology like pc's hasnt filtered ooooop norf yet :o

Fordie 16-Nov-2004 17:32

South but North of the M25 thankfully . 4D

Ozz 16-Nov-2004 17:36

Well sarf. Central sarf coast in fact!

MarkyMark76 16-Nov-2004 17:36

North, but proper north. :roll::roll::roll::roll:

bradders 16-Nov-2004 17:37

very south

dickieducati 16-Nov-2004 18:20

this poll is lending a fair bit of weight to a southern (brands hatch) trackday.

BDG 16-Nov-2004 18:50

North, but i'd rather be South of France or even Spain at the moment:)

Dukerob 16-Nov-2004 19:14

GsxrAge 16-Nov-2004 20:03

Somerset

Loz 16-Nov-2004 21:04

South, worse luck. The whole road system is like Tescos carpark on a Saturday afternoon.

aws 16-Nov-2004 21:14

If you'd been a-listening to JP on Saturday mornings (Home Truths - rip), you'd have been party to the N/S divide and also the E/W divide.

Missed the conclusion - anyone enlighten me?

For myself - spent most of my years around the NY Moors but work forces me to be a softy, but born a Geordie, via most of the known World.

Tim

MJS 16-Nov-2004 22:04

Midlands.... seem I'm in a minority.... where are the rest of you?? Glyn??

chrisw 16-Nov-2004 22:40

T'up North. God's Country.

JasonBoswell 16-Nov-2004 23:08

From the East (so I refuse to be north or south!)... but lived within the M25 for ages now..

webbyc 17-Nov-2004 08:25

Definite sarf bias - Brands trackday coming on????

[Edited on 17-11-2004 by webbyc]

guest1 17-Nov-2004 08:52

Judging by the poll, North is less crowded. Great, more room on the road.

Mark 17-Nov-2004 09:01

About 1/2 mile from the solent, so i guess SARF as it gets!

But i think moggers and jewell can't answer, as their West Country, you try telling people from west country their from the Sarf!

I don't class myself southern, class myself west country (where i was born)

Monty 17-Nov-2004 11:00

Confused that's me, according to your instructions I am Midlands Lily, however I am actually East Anglia, born in Essex, but Cornish by heritage-like I said confused.
And Flanker, when you are Proper Cornish you don't even accept that you are English-anymore than the Scots or Welsh do. Home rule for Cornwall that's what I say-but Prescott wouldn't ask US just incase we said yes..........
