what are you looking forward to?

starting to hit the cold depths of winter when bike riding for many of us is a distant dream....

<Lily awaits the onslaught from the AWB, but doesn't care as she is nice and warm>

so what are you looking forward to over the coming months?

Do you have the long distance radar for spring and bike riding, maybe a trip to warmer places for biking/other.

For me, its counting down the days until I land in Vancouver and head to the sunny slopes of Whistler.. I just can't wait and check the webcam every day :sing:

You??

beancounter 29-Nov-2004 18:25

Not much.

Put both bikes to bed for the winter at the weekend so won't be seeing them again till spring.

Ordered a new Mini for the girlfriend but that doesn't arrive till March either.

Boring, boring winter

JPM 29-Nov-2004 18:26

b..b..b..buttt its cold :P

and yeah you are rich, we both know that so stop moaning and get on with your work ;)

Jools 29-Nov-2004 18:50

Getting my bike back on the road so that I can ride through the winter with my mates.

It might seem stoopid to some, but there's a few of us in the BHC region that ride regularly in winter. In fact, some of the best rides have been when it's a crisp and clear day in January or something.

Fewer cars packed with sightseers, no caravans, no bugs to splatter your visor to nil visibility in ten miles and the chance to hone your riding skills to smoothness when the grip is less than plentiful.

Oh, and a pie and pint in a nice warm pub tastes brilliant when you've got a little chilly

revdecal 29-Nov-2004 19:05

off to Beijing tomorrow and whilst there am going to buy some trick, yet tons cheaper, bits for my race suzuki!!

Also, a young lad we look after is racing next yr in the spanish supercup and BSB on a GP125, he's only 13 and was offered a ride for Red Bull Rookies but turned it down to go their own way.
Very promising lad.....next Rossi!!

TP 29-Nov-2004 19:44

I'm looking forward to finishing up at work in 2.5 weeks then heading to Spain for 25 days.

:D :D

And then coming back to finish(read start) setting up my garage properly and prepping the 996 for next years track activities. And maybe sorting out a bike for Desmo Due.

I'm not looking forward to having to find work again, I couldn't be ar$ed really .....

good luck on getting the bike fixed

Iconic944ss 29-Nov-2004 23:50

DUke is all vacc-bagged for winter but, problems there are waiting for me - so its 'head-in-the-sand' time there :sniff:

But, garage is getting better all the time - half way to a workshop now and strip down of my trackbike has started, getting that sorted for the coming season will be the only thing keeping me going :puzzled:

clockwork orange 29-Nov-2004 23:52

Delivery of the new bike - not till March...:(

Felix 29-Nov-2004 23:57

Ah, WJB, judging by your avatar, you've made the right decision.;)

...and now back to the thread...

AK 30-Nov-2004 00:00

Looking forwards to a couple of quiet weekends in the new year to chill out in front of the fire & do nothing all day.

Then waiting for the clocks to go back in March showing the spring is well on its way... then getting the bikes out properly for the longer trips & meeting mates who have gone into hibernation for the winter.

Spring - its round the corner you know - if you are optimistic!:D

Just knowing there is a light at the end of this tunnel.
Not seen my bed before midnighht in 10+ days, just work-work-work.
Wish the £ was paid by the hour on weeks like this.
Can't see how I am ever going to finish the printing / orders / albums / this side of Christmas.
Dry as a bone 'till the works done and the money is recovered.
Very depressing.
