Fairing panels swap

Hi

Have 01 748r with older style fairing panels.

My question is... if I was lucky enough to find a set of the later 748r carbon fairing panels, would they fit?

If not could I simply swap the mid sections for the later 998,748 panels (the ones without the vents) I know they would fit but would this cause any unwanted cooling problems?

Seasons greetings

748r

The panels will swop straight over but the new stylee 748r panels arent carbon, and if anyone is selling a left side in red must be totally mint ill bite your arm off!!

:puzzled: oh... thats good to know. What are the carbon ones that are are painted with exeption of air scoop and insignia? 998r? these look fantastic and are my next purchase if i can find them... the challenge is finding them with limited numbers produced :(

panels

Yeah its the 998R panels that are all 1 piece carbon.
Ive seen a couple on ebay, they are bloody lovely!!

Rattler 12-Dec-2004 13:20

The 996R and 998R side panels and belly pan are carbon - there aren't too many out there for sale, but there are a few companies who can make these - QB Carbon for example, try a search.

by, buy

mistake in typing and not spelling!

I know that RipSnortingVeeTwin also does very high quality carbon - I don't have his number to hand.

Try a search on this board for Rip and see what it throws up.

Thanks for that i have just been searching, didnt find anything especially but this quote lept out at me...

"Besides that, there is a school of thought amoung "R" owners on this board that we should have our own "eliteist" section and not be mixed up with the everyday Ducati owner!!!!"

Recognise it?

Quality :sing:

Rattler 12-Dec-2004 14:36

Ah yes:lol::lol::lol::lol::cool::cool::o:o:o

There is of course an inneR-circle here - anyone can be part of it, you just need a "R" or two to get in!!!!!!!!!!!:lol::lol::bouncy::bouncy::bounc y:

aaaah at last...

I finally feel that it was money well spent, The dealer never mentioned this in his sales pitch... kept going on about Titanium and Ohnlins for some obscure reason?

Seasons Greetings to one and all

Thanks Antonye, very kind.

I would like that very much, happy to sign up chap, I will pay the site a visit.

Live in Colchester which isn't a million miles away from Chelmsford, shame about Parkies eh?
