Desmo Due rules The updated rules for the series have been mailed to all registered participants over the Christmas period. If anyone who has not yet registered for the series wishes to receive a copy of this document then they should e-mail: desmodue@ducatisportingclub.com The DSC technical committee will then mail you out a copy. It would be helpfull if all comments were received back by the 10th of January. Chris |
Just a quickie Chris, are plastic petrol tanks allowed under ACU rules? |
Paul, this is the relevant point from the rules......... "1.6.11 Fuel Tank Fuel tanks must be either OEM Ducati OR made of steel or aluminium. Fuel tanks with tank breather pipes must be fitted with non-return valves that discharge into a catch tank with a minimum volume of 250cc made of a suitable material." The later 620ie's are supplied as standard with the "plastic" tanks, so the "OEM" statement validates these as OK to use. |
Okay Neil, just didnt want a load of people turning up for the first race and failing scrutineering! I suppose that our rules fall into line with the ACU rules (which i imagine would take priority)? [Edited on 28-12-2004 by rockhopper] |
Paul, needless to say the basics of the rules follow ACU/FIM guidelines, with our own interpretation to reduce the modifications that you are allowed to do. Chris |
Go look for the loop holes..!! |
I love rules.. they are only there to be interpreted..... |
Andy, Just watchout for the catch all phrases that we have put in them, wouldn't want anyone to fall foul and be excluded. In the event of any doubt as to the interpretation of the Rules, entrants should mail desmodue@ducatisportingclub.com and we will give a written response. That way your bright ideas will stay private! CHris |
Plastic tanks should be no problem as Aprilla RS125`s have plastic tanks. Chris.:burn: |
With respect I was only kidding!:D However, look at all the great motorsports. Fi, rally, WSB, GP, they are all after an angle, I think thats all part of the sport! ;) |
i havnt got my rules yet can they be posted up here? |

Quite right Andy, always read the rule book and see how it can be used in your favour. Although rules are not to be broken they can sometimes be vague and be interpreted in different ways. Still waiting for mine any chance of a U2U copy |
Boys, I have been assured that all registered participants have been e-mail (or in 2 cases snail mailed) the updated rules last week. If you are registered and haven't received them please sendf an e-mail to to desmodue@ducatisportingclub.com We will not be posting them up on the WEB site for general discussion at this time. This is to ensure that any points of contention are discussed and agreed by the partcipants and not subject to general debate by those who have no intention of entering. We need to move quickly to a resolution now and allow people to move forward. Chris |
