sue

Jamcoly 08-Jan-2005 20:21

DON'T DO IT

AK 08-Jan-2005 22:29

echo that comment!

nowhere to put your ciggys & hot chocky if you do:o

Otherwise lots of helpful advice (try a search, as Lots & lots of threads & posts about this), on the ukmonster site

Its the one thing that really divides the monster owners - to chop or not.....

C:)

Albie 08-Jan-2005 23:21

Defo UKMOC site for that. Kits for number plates available at spareshack.Costs u money to lose something that really should be there in rain etc.

SazzaJ 09-Jan-2005 21:34

Nah, doesn't need to cost you money! Both of mine (yes, I've had two) cost me a roast dinner. Bargain!

As for the rain, well you're going to get wet anyway....

gary-g 10-Jan-2005 13:20

Go on then, tell me more!
I know that Alf's do a shorter t-tray in carbon fibre, but that's about it.
'not checked out the UKM site yet.
Could always chew over at this Sunday's meeting, if youre going to be there.
We're only in Shoreham anyway.

Cheers

Nattyboy 26-Jan-2005 01:08

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Gaz !!

Bang one of these on..transforms the look of the arse !!

As you can see..it was the first thing to go on mine before I even rode the bugger !!

What about the £100.00 rear light with built in indicators??

gary-g 29-Jan-2005 20:46

Carbon rear end looks good Nat, might go down that route.

Albie, what's this rear light / indicator unit all about, does it mean you can get rid of the t-tray completely?

I've not heard about this one.

Cheers guys.

Gaz

Gary T. 29-Jan-2005 21:59

I'm a member of the "less is more" club of tail choppers in UKMOC, and as Albie said there's plenty of ways to get the short arsed look without resorting to burning loadsa cash. I think my own cost about a £30, including materials & the set of 4 mini indicators I needed.

Gary T. 29-Jan-2005 22:14

There is a downside to the lack of tea tray though :sniff:

Sazza got hers from Spareshack I believe. Indicators Led too are in tail light. Looks neat tho. Got myself a carbon T Tray yesterday and looks pukka with Motrax led tail light. Best of both worlds IMO carbon is nice and tray practical. Each to their own. :D

Ah Ha! the phantom hacker of Sussex has tracked down a tail ripe for the chopping :D

berto 31-Jan-2005 22:31

Unless you stay in Utah don't bother chopping it

gary-g 01-Feb-2005 13:58

Thanks guys, nice pictures.

'think we will probably go down the carbon fibre route, possibly with the LED rear light/indicator unit - very nice and functional too.

Albie, what's this then, Wedgewood or Denby I wonder?

I've seen rubber chickens and furry animals before, but cheese on toast is a new one on me:lol:

Berto, your S4 photo in the photo section looks the biz, i think that finally tipped the scales.

Ally Pally here we come!! (on Saturday if anyone else is.)

:D

Cheers Gaz

ps. Jmo, you don't work at Alf's do you?

Noooooooooo - what makes you say that?

I have my own little carpeted premises further along the coast...

gary-g 10-Feb-2005 13:46

Just thought you might, as Alf's is the only bikeshop that i know sells Ducati bits and bobs.

Gaz

JMo 17-Feb-2005 00:04

Ah - I think you're confusing me with Natty-boy - I'm not in the business of flogging stuff, only making Monsters beautiful... x

The only Ducati bits you need are the ones already on your bike - a fivers worth of bolts and bungs, and whatever little indicators you fancy - personally I'd go for something like Motrax Tinycators or the all in one light unit like Sazza-J has...

If you're still thinking about it, pop along to the Sussex DSC meet at Findon one month (this coming Sunday infact), and you'll see what I mean...

Jmo

will you be offering your services to me again this year?
I'll try to keep the bike a little longer than 24hrs with a chop i promise.

beancounter 18-Feb-2005 12:26

To all the UKMOC people posting here :-

What on earth has happened to the UKMOC site recently ? It used to be an interesting site but seems of late to have been virtually taken over by a number of people on some sort of hallucinogenic drugs.

What's happening ?

i guess everyone is looking at the great family we have here and want to be a part of it.

AK 18-Feb-2005 13:48

Tony - seems like one looney decided to register 4 'alias's (at least) - who all had 'conversations' with each other:rolleye: and also hurl the odd insult at others in passing too.

Also said person hi-jacked almost each & every thread with complete drivel from himself or one of his alias's, along with another member. (can anyone do over 50 posts in a day????? - not even Weeksy could!!)

Unfortunately this person has never met one person from the club who could possibly help him out of the hole he denies he has dug.

Came to a head last night, hence the email.

Makes here look like the upper school common room eh?

people on here can do 50 posts a day easily on occasions i recon. but anyway its a shame when one person spoils it for all the others hope they get it sorted.

not being one to give a dog a bad name. but one person soooooooooo springs to mind here:eureka:

beancounter 18-Feb-2005 14:13

anyone got a pic of a high can tail chop?

JMo 23-Feb-2005 00:37

A Doktor writes...

Bansh - you ditch those huge great eggs and fit either Motorax Tinycators to brackets behind the rear lamp (out of the way), or get one of those rear LED lamps that Sazza-J has, with the built in rear indicators...

It's your choice babe x
